Number-plate buld - UK source

Post by riceburner »

Anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement number-plate bulb for my Rockster??

It actually went last year, and so far I've not been able to find a replacement (and I've now lost the blinking dud one i took out).

(I am not an ebay person btw).

Maybe at your local dealer? Here in Germany we get the full selection of bulbs also at our local DIY superstore ...

I got a standard ,bright, halogen one from the local BMW dealer (Rainbow) - I then got a pair of LED ones from Consumabulbs. Plenty more such UK sources on line apart from ebay.

Can anyone tell me the correct spec for the bulb? As said - I've lost mine (took it out to show a few shops while looking for a replacement and now I can't find it. :( )

IIRC it's actually quite an odd fitting?

It's part number 8 in this image, lists for $10.08. A 12-volt, 8 watt halogen.

Somebody may be able to find it for less as a generic bulb, though.

The one in mine:

Phillips H6W 12v 6W Single Centre Contact, bayonet fitting, physically it looks a lot like the bulb you'd find in a torch, Halfords or a local care spares emporium should have an equivalent.
So far:TS125,TS250,GS550,GS550,CB750, GPZ1100, CB600 Hornet, RSV1000
