Scorpio Alarm from Aritronix

My mechanic ask me $190 to (as he said) to install my Scorpio Alarm on my R1200R... he usually get the power from the parking light inside the headlight and wrap with tapes an electric line along the main electrical cable.
That's the only way he found to be sure to do not risk to corrupting the central computer of the R and eventually broke the warranty.

Again as he said... with the way he do it some warning functions of the Alarm will not work anymore such as the lights blinking and so on...

I talk with Tom from Aritronix this morning and he says that they had issues finding a safe way to install their product on the R1200R because of its very specific electrical system.

Personally I just need the perimetrical sensors to protect the bike from kids messing around and theft to try open or still my luggages... so I was wondering if I could just use a rechargeable battery system to power the alarm...just like a cellphone I'll just need to plug it and charge it every once in a while.

Or a small solar panel connected to a rechargeable battery able to constantly power the 1volt and few milliamps required to power the Scorpio alarm.

Who were able to safely install this alarm on the R ?

How did you do ?

Is there any alternative Alarm system with perimetrical sensors and remote control
designed for or working fine on the R1200R ? (Which could be plugged just like a an accessory.)

There is a BMW factory alarm available.. part number # 65757715287 Why d--k around with an aftermarket unit that doesn't integrate with the bikes electrical system. AND better question WHY wouldn't your dealer recommend it???

I knew that there is an electronic Anti-theft option on the R1200R but I have read that it was some kind of a primitive alarm for the money to put in.

So now is this part number # 65757715287 the same system proposed as option ?

Is it a perimetrical alarm ?

Do you have a link were I can consult detailed informations about it ?

This one http://longbeachbmwmotorcycles.bmw-ride ... plo=&bphi= has motion sensors to "protect" my luggages but seems to have been designed for the R1150....

Even prior to buy the R1200R I expected some difficulties to integrate the Scorpio Alarm But you right I don't know why my mechanic didn't mention this option while we were talking about it... well ! it look like this Scorpio Alarm might pretty much end up on Craiglist or be re-cycled as additional alarm in front of my doorstep around where I actually park my bike at night.

So if by any chance the part number you were refering is an other alarm type than the one on BMW long beach dealer... please feel free to post a direct link where I even eventually order it.
