Thanks Snowprick-----I for one am all for wishing "Merry Christmas!"

Hope all have a wonderful Christmas!

Planning on a Christmas Day ride with some good friends tomorrow, MikeCam and Beemeridian. Mike and I did the same thing last year as well.

Hi towerworker,

We are doing the same. If anyone knows Philippines, we are leaving Manila (Shell EDSA) at 6am heading to Subic Bay for breakfast.

I might test ride my bike in a minute just to make sure......... :D :D :D

A couple days before the 25th I went to Fry's (a great electronics superstore) for my final Christmas shopping. The place was so mobbed, all empty adjacent areas were being used. It looked like a free beer free food event may be the reason. It wasn't. I parked right up front on the sidewalk apron, 15 steps from the front door. A wonderful 90 mile roundtrip ride in 46F (7.8C). On Christmas day I went for a 39.2 mile ride to get gas and take the long way back. It was 62F (16.7C) the entire trip. I postponed the original necessary day plans because the weather was SO nice! I had to return soon for Christmas dinner so the "loop" size was limited. After the engine warmed up, I kept it in the happy zone 3,500----6,000 in 3rd gear for a few minutes, just to marvel at the sound, acceleration & wonderful drone of engine braking at those revs. It was so very unlike me! I was surprised that with the (currently $1.43/Gallon) Chevron Regular gasoline (noticed the pump's "10% Ethanol" sticker as I remounted the bike to leave) does not ping even with full throttle 6th gear at 3,000 RPM, engine at 213F (100.6C). Factor that new option in when you guys gas up, if you are using Premium fuel now. If it has "10% Ethanol" (AKA "Gas-a-hol") you can prolly use Regular. Bear in mind that scientific sample only involved the Chevron (Texaco) brand. My Christmas present to you.

Oh, about that gas price . . . . it went down even further. Check it out HERE (scroll down the page)

My Christmas was practically present-less, by kid standards, because I already have everything and didn't want for much. The one thing I enjoyed the most was already there. My wife Ann. She kinda likes me a lot too. I hope yours is also as precious, or at least nearly so.

Hey SP - I was in your area last month! I spent a few days in Manila and a few days in Iba, then off to Hong Kong, Beijing, Yanji, and then a failed attempt to get into North Korea after officials changed their mind about an invitation I had to received earlier from them.

But - the best part of my time in the Philippines was a flight in this 1949 Ryan Navion out of the old Clark base, over the volcano (can't remember the name of it now) up the coast to Iba. The emerald water in the crater was beautiful. The closest I got to motorcycling while in the country was one of those "tricycles".
