Moto Lights...White or Amber? Opinions Welcomed.

Back to my question... Moto Lights...White or Amber? (Insert PIAA for those who must)

My objective is be seen by the dreaded left turning blue hair/Q-tip/cell phone zombie here in Fla. Had this thought due to the lack of amber fog lamps in use in america they might be noticible..hopefully not to the point of being aimed at

Best to "Edit" picture to fit.....Click Edit then "Resize"
A good size for here is 640 x 479
Then hit save

Now to upload to here

Now click on the picture and then "IGM Code"
The picture will copy.

Create a message here
Then past your picture here....

All Done

Too late now, as you already bought 'em.

For my money, I'd go with white. An amber lens or bulb just cuts down on the photon flux, so - all else being equal - that's less photons on the road, or to the other driver's iris.

That being said ... if you put one lens as amber, and the other as white, *that* might get some attention.

Not only do we need a picture but we need a picture taken in the dark with the lights on so we get the full coolness and menacing effect.

Please note my camera did not do the lights justice. Nikon coolPix S51. They look alot like the daytime pic, not a mas fo yellow light. I'll work on it.

Day time visibility..I time amounts to bright yellow lens movement, dusk & night time..no doubt your are seen.

The lights look good. They'll certainly get some attention and I like the yellow. Add'l lighting is next on my list.

As far as getting the photos to embed it looks like you're using the URL from the address bar. You want to use the URL Flickr provides you for the photo.
-Go to your photos and click on one of them to view it.
-Above the photo you'll see a button marked "All Sizes" - click that. This usually brings up the largest size for that photo.
-Again above the photo you'll see several available sizes - I usually select "Medium".
-Below the photo you'll see a couple of boxes with URLs listed. One is labeled "Grab the photo's URL". This is the one you want. Copy the URL from this box and paste between the [img][\img] codes in your message. *note I'm using a backslash here to get the tags to show up.

Phew! All that work just to get a few photos to show up. If it still doesn't work PM me and I'll walk you though it. Thanks for posting them though.

Looks like this is a IMHO type thing so I'll jump in.
On another thread Don brought up something I never thought of: it was about having an auxiliary light system on your bike that is independent of the stock lighting system on the bike. In the event of a total failure of the stock lighting system you'll still have something to get you to a safe place so you can work on the bike or call for help. Following his advise I wired my driving lights on their own circuit.

I think the best configuration for the lights is having the running lights on the lower fork legs. That makes the triangle as large as possible. As far as the color I think they draw the most attention if they are all the same color and intensity. Take a good look at bikes coming at you, I notice that bikes, usually Harleys (or cruiser type bikes) running with driving lights mounted next to the headlight and the headlight on high beam are very hard to judge. The intensity of all that light makes it hard to judge the speed and the distance to the bike, at least for me.

Moto lights work very well at preventing other drivers from turning in front of you. One day I didnt realize they were off and people were turning in front of me more than usual, and I didnt know why till I figured it out.

Any kind of additional lighting will enhance safety.
