aftermarket horn for r1200r

Post by red baron »

Has anybody installed an aftermarket horn in a 08 r1200r? If so what make and how difficult was it? I am thinking of a Fiamm freeway blaster or is there something better on the market?
Thanks in advance for any reply.

Run a search and you'll find quite a few results.
Here is a good one:

I have two horns on my bike. Fiamms I believe. For the second one to fit I had to remove the charcoal canister. Use the search for it and find out how.
Don Deilenberger gives some good advice on that and many other subjects.
I bought an adapter thing for the new horns because of the difference in horn plugs. I didn't want to cut my wires. I got the adapter from Nippy Normans. It took a long time to get to me.
I also added a relay. Although some smart fellows say you don't have to some other smart fellows say it is wise to. On this rare occasion I took the safe road.
My horns are now loud and satisfyingly truck like.
