OK, so this has happened to me too many times to blame on accidental button hits or thick gloves. I have a SM-5 Signal Minder that every once and a while turns on my hazard lights all on it's own. Rather odd, any one else have this problem?

Mine failed slightly differently. I accidently hit the hazard flasher button, and then you couldn't turn them off! Up till then, it worked fine for about 18 months. The quick fix was to open the seat and pull the module to stop the flashing. I did reinstall it since its turn related functions seemed OK, and the flashers did stop. However, testing the emergency flasher button once more and it got "stuck" on again. Pulled the unit to reset it once more and proceeded home.

I just put the OEM module back in and it has been fine ever since.... just takes some getting used to again after the SM-5.

Have thought about taking it back directly to Kissan since their offices are here in Colorado Springs, but have not done that yet. I have lost confidence in the product.

Did you try hitting the cancel button to turn off the emergency flashers? That's how mine works.

I had this problem a couple of days ago,hazard lights started flashing and wouldnt turn off until I disconnected the Kissan unit. I had tried all other possble remedies and combinations, but the thing wouldnt behave at all. Upon reinstalling the unit, all appears to be OK again....just have to wait and see.

I picked up a used SM-5 on the cheap one time. It was one of the old style ones in the black case(newer ones are silver). It was bizzaro in all of its functions, making it unusable on the street. I just stuck the original back in and never messed with it again.

Nope. mine has worked flawlessly, I have only owned it for 2 years though.

I had the same problem a couple of times after I hit the hazard button. I don't know what caused it but it finally shut off. Killed the battery 1 time at work when I thought they were off and they came back on. Haven't had the problem in a long time though.
