New Guy
Hi to all:
Just finished registering to participate on this forum and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Darryl and I ride an 04 R1150RS. I'm friends with a forum member here (Dr. Strangelove) and, while viewing his recent storm report thread, I noticed how active, friendly (and entertaining) this forum appeared. I'm a member of the RS Owner's group and they too are friendly, good folks but that forum is just not very active.
Anyway, I hope I might become a part of this community...I didn't see the RS listed among the participating bikes here but hopefully that's not an issue. I'm a huge BMW fan...well, actually I'M not huge but my affection for BMW motorcycles certainly is.

I don't have any good information, but I throw a decent game of cricket, and I'm fun around a campfire.

Welcome!

Re: New Guy
I fell backwards into a 2004 RS w/ low miles when a friend who thought he was retiring from the Marines got promoted instead! Blue/Ice finish, nicely under-equipped but with System cases and luggage rack. Runs very smoothly compared to the R1150R series (state of tune differences) and has a nice comfortable riding position and performance on sweepers. I agree it is more active here than the RS site (London based, Bikers Oracle?).
Welcome and good riding.

Re: New Guy
Welcome aboard, I will not hold your friendship with John against you....just kidding!!!!
I'm in Baton Rouge and sold both the 02 R1150R and the 98 Suzuki Bandit 1200S on May 2007 as I was going on an overseas assignment. I have since replaced them....however, I shall keep mum for now.......Je, Je, Je.
Hey, maybe the three of us should get together for a ride.....PM me and maybe we can meet halfway to NO.

Welcome aboard.
Coffee pot is in the corner, next to the spare parts, and btw, you missed one hell of a raffle.
Ok, now, lets go make fun of him in the Member's section

Re: New Guy
Great! Now we have two Daryls.
Re: New Guy
Thanks to all for the welcome. To Boxermania: Yeah, I knew that dropping John's name was dicey. And, yes, the three of us should ride together sometime. That would be great. On another note, I'm looking at that picture of Larry-Darryl-Darryl, and I'm thinking: I'm mostly like that stylishly disheveled guy on the right, with the sculpted good looks, and sporting the K-Mart / Prada casuals (not just anyone can pull off that open-shirt look).
Anyway, looking forward to chattin' it up with you guys soon.
Regards,

Hey Darryl:
Welcome! I think you are going to like this place. I too almost bought an RS when I was shopping for bikes, but the location was just not as convenient. I like the way they look and wish they still made those. Post a pic of your bike some time!!

Re: New Guy
there is a guy that has recently started posting, calls himself "Darryl."
I don't know him and I am not responsible for any of hs debts.
I have heard he has been materially responsible for enticing otherwise normal physicians into motorcycle riding.
Claims to have sculpted good looks. He may be a bad influence.
But, just in case this is a different "Darryl," welcome to the board, dude.

Welcome,
I'm also a newbie myself with just over 4 weeks and 1500 miles so far... As you've already found, this place is awesome! Everyone here is great.
Probably like yourself... longing wanted that Beemer for years... now finally got it!
At first I was thinking the RT... but now that I've got the R.... I'm loving the bike and I'll stick with the R, probably for good.
