I ordered my new bike

I ordered my new bike
I just ordered a 2009 Black R1200R with ABS, heated grips, computer, TPM, ASC, sport shield, clear lenses, bag mounts, low seat, lowered suspension with a centerstand. BMW must be offering shorter centerstands now because this wasn't an option before. I had to sell my 2007 R1200R last year but I should be back in the saddle by October.

Very cool. When you get it - I'm gonna want a lot of measurements of the suspension components and the centerstand..

The UK ad is just a tad insulting to us normal height people... it was obviously written by a mutant giant over 5'8" tall.

If the shorter one would work with my lowered suspension - yes. The stock one is useable, but a bit of a chore to use.Dauntless wrote:No problem! I'm also working with Klaus (Hyperpro importer) in redesigning the short shocks from Hyperpro to keep the stock suspension travel while still lowering the bike. Klaus built a very custom shock for the rear which accomplishes this (usually lowering the suspension also means loosing suspension travel..) and now is working on the front. The results on the rear are quite impressive - great ride quality on a lowered suspension, a rather rare combination.
I suspect (and hope) BMW did the same (kept the travel) on their shorter suspension bikes, but to really know, I'll need some measurements of the shocks they've used.

I'd love to know how much different it is. Dauntless, I was the guy who actually got your old low seat and swapped with your florida buyer. I still dream about the low frame option so id love to hear about it.
