Finally getting around to uploading my pics. Been very busy since the Bash. Despite the rain it was a great Bash. I mostly enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Challey, NoRRmad, jfslater, johnnyjs1, Daryl_stamp, TonyT607, SecondWind and surely some others I am forgetting, so let me apologize for that.

I want to apologize to those following me on the group ride Saturday. I was writing down the turns because my tank bag doesn't have a very big map window. That got me elected to be ride leader. Even though I had a GPS I did not have detailed maps of the area loaded so I was not able to route. Sooo...I ended up missing 414 outside of Canton, PA as it turned right when I wasn't paying attention. I went on happily thinking I was still on 414 for a while. It turned out to be a fantastic ride along the river with great surface and high speed sweepers so I didn't stop until we hit 15 only a few miles south of Liberty where we supposed to be. Even though we got soaked on the way back (Vann, that was your fault because you were leading at that time  ) it was quite a lot of fun to ride with some new folks.

Looking forward to next year, wherever it may be. Don't forget about Hungry Mother guys, wet Bashes mean dryer Hungry Mother Rain Rides!!!

Who has the pics of the "Overland Route" on Central Road north of the CPH, Beemeridian and/or johnnyjs1? I heard there were potholes that could swallow a beakster and grave markers of lost souls who passed away enroute.

Jim,
I got some pics, but when I looked at them, they actually seemed pretty tame. But I'm sure Beemeridian can attest to the peril that abound on that dark lonely trail. I believe Janyss still has the bruises on her bum to prove it (pics of that in due time  )
This was actually a nice part of the road:

Checkin to see if the rim is bent:

Like I said, the pics make the road seem harmless, but trust me 8+ miles of going 20mph dodging/hitting 2ft X 2ft waterfilled potholes and bottoming out the front end too many times to count (the auxillary light mounts i fabbed up were completely destroyed by the time we got out) was enough off-roading for me for awhile. [-(
See, I told you guys, half the time I dont know what I'm talking about.

The first time I went to the Central Park Hotel back in late nineties, I asked how the roads were North of town. The locals gave me a look like "We don't talk about them trails much; that's for loggers only." You guys seemed to have survived without incident, but your descriptions sound like it would more suitable for dual sports or 4WD.

Beemeridian....Yes I do remember that stretch of trail. Only I was too busy crapping my pants to think about stopping and taking a picture  . I really wish i would have taken a picture :( Talk about a view though...WOW!! Once up and over the highest point, I dont think I ever touched the throttle again till we hit paved road. I would guesstimate about 5 miles of downhill grade, one hand on the brake, the other continuously crossing myself while praying to the man above. I think I even had the bike in nuetral for a good 3miles and still doing 20mph down that pot-holed martian-like surface. I should have known what was in store for us when 3 cars in front of us turned around, and one huge monster truck with tires taller than myself proceeded forward. Damn you ZUMO!! Since when is a logging trail considered a "paved road"?? I think I would take that trail again one day, if only for another chance to take a picture of the wonderful view, maybe sit down for a bit and just enjoy the peace and quiet of that lonely desolate road. Of course only if it were not raining [-(

Everybody at dinner walked away with a door prize thanks to these generous members and supporters. Hats off to you all.
I walked away with (IMHO) the best prize: a bottle of Wagner Alta B, from Daryl and Gabriella. Just opened it now, and it is goooood! Plus it reminded me of the great time I had with you all. Thanks!!!

Looking forward to the next Bash, and seeing some of you before then.

THe wine sounds good, but there is nothing like a little swill at Hungry Mother SP in VA in August. Just a couple of miles on 80, and then a bunch of miles on 81.

I can't see the article unless I subscribe to the Columbus paper. And, what good will that do me? I went to public schools in Tennessee.

I assume it was the brewery where we stopped on Saturday. Bullfrog Brewery, or something like that? Did they give it as good of a review as we did?

I still haven't received the 4 prizes back that I sent up there the Monday before the Bash. I fear they are lost somewhere down that road that Dave and Johnny took. :(

Maybe they are being "held hostage" until we return?

It was about the brewery, but the paper has moved on. I can email you my password, and then you can look at the pictures. :D
