We've been blessed with some great riding weather this weekend on the east coast so this afternoon I went exploring R12R style.Found some great fireroads so I said what the heck and off I went and the R12R seemed to be very agreeable with the decision.
Here's a couple of pics.The R12R looks like it's in it's element eh?
Psst don't tell the chain gang crowd but the R12R was better then my F650GS I just traded in on this surface.Go figure.

Not a surprise to me.. the R12R is about the best street bike I've tried for less than ideal pavement. Just keep it moving and it does just fine.
Nice roads - Wharton tract? Batsto area?
Neither. They are out off 539 in the Warren Grove gunnery range area.
It's a short hop skip and a jump for me.
Played on them for a bit and then marked out a nice route of slab to take to Batso from there.
I'm fortunate to be have some great riding at my finger tips here.
If you're ever up for a jaunt sometime just let me know.Perhaps we can get a small R12R fleet going?
I was doodling around the other end of 539 (and 524, 526, 537) breaking in my new front tire today.. I do ride that area frequently and brunch at Lucilles is pretty much a tradition (cleanest bathroom in the pines).
If you're around tomorrow - the "Running of the Nortons" takes place at Washington's Crossing State Park - the PA side on Rt 32. Starts around 10AM, I expect to get there about 11.. it's always fun to see lots of old brit iron in one place, even moreso since most of them rode there. Usually a good crowd from the 3 NJ BMW clubs shows up, and we'll generally go someplace for lunch (there was talk of a ride to Jim Thorpe PA - but that is weather dependent..)

Thanks for the heads up.One of the fellows at CCBMW told me about that Norton dealio.Tomorrow I'm taking my X-Challenge and riding an enduro that starts right across the street from Lucille's.I also frequent her fine establishment quite often.
Have fun at the Norton running.
Never ask your GPS to take you home using the straightest route. Here's where I ended up on my new R1200R coming home from the Black Diamond rally last fall. This was right before the stream crossing. Somewhere in Stokes forest (I think).
BTW: Don I've been working on the exhaust system, now it not only wakes the dead it then kills them again with acoustic shock. I'll demonstrate on Sunday morning at the Square Root Rally HC

Very nice, she's right at home in the loose stuff, eh? My gps has taken me waaaay off the beaten path when I set it to "shortest distance". All a good time...
I wish I wasn't working all weekend....
