Has anyone here tried Red Line Synthetic Manual Transmission oil in their R1200R? It smoothed out the shifting in my 91 318iS noticeably.
I know the tranny in this bike is smoother than older BMWs but it could still be smoother.

What is happening to my skin?
Where is that protection that I needed?
Air can hurt you too

Re: Red Line Oil
I have shockproof heavy in the trans as I did the 600mile/1000 klm fluid changes myself. The dealers here would have used a Shell product. I also put it in the fd but have since aquired some redline 70/90 for that purpose. I agree it is a smooth trans on these bikes (I am coming off HD's) but it is very nice with redline in there.

Is that a derisive little smile? 35 mpg is my reasoning.

Re: Red Line Oil
Haven't touched the tranny yet. (Butover in "FAQ it" here at r1150r.net they address Red Line Syn for Transmission Oil - short answer - yes.) But, I did the first oil change today after the 600 mile break in change. Now have 2,266 miles..used Rotella T 15-40 Dino, and a BMW filter.
btw
The dealer must have used an air wrench on the the plug, and seemingly failed to lube the filter gasket....gotta say I don't think I have ever used so much force
to losen either in my life. That includes a couple of heaps
I owned in College.
