It will fit the R with a little fine tuning. I had a pair on mine but ended up selling them because they didn't really do much for me. As always your results may differ..........................TKM

Yes, with slight adjustments.

I've thought about installing one on my bike before. I'm pretty sure your final drive isn't prepared for it, but I'm sure you could drill and tap the needed mounting holes. Check with your dealer.

The diff on my bike (2003) is not tapped for the mounting screws. But yes, it would fit but you may have to drill and tap a couple of 6mm holes.
Trivial tidbit- when I had my GS the local dealer told me the purpose of these was to satisfy a German regulation on fender height.
