Reason I never show up on this board!

Post by wncbmw »

It occurred to me the other day, that as much time as I spend on this board (my internet home) I do not believe I have ever posted on the R1200R forum. Why?

Simple - I am trying to avoid contact with the R1200R until I am ready to buy one! I love my 1150R but am sure a test ride would be a disaster for my finances! :P And those evil salesman keep trying to get me to ride one! [-X

I didn't want anyone to think I was anti-social or anything! And I see lots of names that don't appear on the other forums either.

But there appears to be some good general info over here that could be useful for all bikes, so I guess I will just have to pop in now and then. Likewise, some of you guys get out and about on the other forums too. We can all get along!

Just don't offer to let me ride your bike!

Come to the dark side. :smt077

But, good point. I haven't checked out the other boards and I'm sure there's good info over there. Will have to get out more often.

Do that guys. This is a great board, not typical. You also should try to make it to one of the many gatherings that happen.

I too have not come over here much because I ride the 1150 and have never test ridden the 1200 but I think I will visit the "dark side" more often!

One day I will try the 1200 but I'm not concerned about wanting one too badly. My r is paid for and I like that feeling! Don't like debt!

You guys come see us too!

My dealer has a R1200 as the service loaner, and Igot to have it for 3 days last fall while my Rockster was getting some service. I enjoyed it very much, was lighter, handled a tad better, but I was glad to get my PAID FOR Rock back. It just didnt do enough for me to justify the extra money on a deal :|

I'm the same way with my car: 92 Mazda Miata with 173,000 miles on it. The new ones are sweet and I wouldn't mind having one but no payment is nice too.

The other reason to avoid the 1200R is my 1150R is also paid for! Makes it easier to resist the urge!

I'd be happy to sell you mine if riding a used one is not beneath you.
I’d like to get rid of mine and buy a Harley. I hear they are really fine bikes and the people are top notch!

Just kidding! I don’t know what gets into me. :-k

Hey Celticus - let me know when you will be coming over the mountain to Pisgah Inn again? We'll ride!

No switching bikes however!

Funny that the 1200R is "the dark side." The VFR guys refer to the CBRs as the dark side. The GS guys refer to themselves as the dark side...or going over to modular helmets as the dark side.

Oh, and not to be too much of a wisea**, but TWO is in Suches, GA. The one in Cruso is the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground. Both are great places.
