What's going on here?
I blushing from all this praise directed at me, but, to set the record straight, I did NOT invent this bag pin solution.

Someone else did years ago

(?AdvRider guys?). I only popularized it with my pictures with embedded instructional text.
Those bag pins are near the top of my list of the biggest bang-4-the-buck modifications. Less than $2 for the pair of pins and about an hour's work. Besides the bag security, the pins are more functional as bag restraints, in that you can turn the key and YANK up on the opening levers without yanking the bag off it's mounts. That helps
every time you open the bags!!
About all that other "Stuff" . . . . making things better in simple low cost ways, it's what I do for my bike, then pass it on when it works. Typing in the carefully worded instructions is the other part. I just mentally re-live the creation experience, suggesting common alternative tools for the special tools I may have used and cover any/all precautions that could cause costly/unnecessary damage - - - even warnings about the required skill level or to not attempt it yourself.
