Anyone attending this bash that is considering replacing their stock, noisy left side camchain tensioner - - - - If you bring the new tensioner with you I will install it for free while you watch.
The new tensioner is functionally a complete redesign and worth every penny of the $70+ it costs (from Chicago BMW 1-800-262-9150). I got it 3 days after the phone order. My ChicBMW recommendation is totally without any benefit or kickback, other than the thanks you will mention for getting it at the cheapest price anywhere. I am so impressed that BMW finally got it right, by incorporating the needed hydraulic lash adjuster in the movable piston, that I want to totally remove the installation cost or risk for anyone without the ability to install it themselves. PM me if you are one of those people.

So as not to hyjack this thread  . . . . Just recently replaced my burned out driving lites with a smaller but still 55W each light set. I only have to reinstall my GS HandGuards (again) for what will be chilly morning and possibly frigid afternoon mountain top rides. That's once I truck the bike the almost 700 miles to get there. Is there a running total of riders with rooms reserved? Count me in as one of those.

Major Bummer!

Sorry all, but my wife and I have to bow out.

I was really looking forward to meeting all of you too. Please accept my apologies for not being able to make it and my gratitude for all the great info and fun I've had and will continue to have on the board.

As I've said before, the support from this board and the people within it are the primary reason I ended up with an R1150R. The help I have rec'd and friends I've made here over the last year or so make it the best board going!

Thanks again!

Make sure to take a lot of pictures for us.

And Gypsy, please, please, please, do it again next year!!! Next time, we will be ready!

(One more room will be available as of tomorrow morning, when I cancel)

So sorry, Mark. Things come up that are unavoidable some times.

I am already thinking about next year. I think I'll plan it around Columbus day, so some more people can come (if that is a holiday for them). And I think I'll plan it around the Mountain Home area. That's far enough from Ozark (further NE) that it would give us all new roads to ride.

I talked to Ron today and the temperature today was 85 (same here). He says they have not had a cold spell yet, so the leaves have not started changing. He thinks we will not see temps below 50 - day or night. That's good news for me, since 50 chills me to the bone.

Plan on next year.

Hmmm,

Low of 43 here tonight, high of 50 tomorrow, leaves are falling, and windy too. Now that the corn is mostly down, there is no wind breaks making riding more of a challenge. I think I see where this is headed

I'll ride to work anyway though. Sure I'll get more than one - Are you crazy?

Glad to hear about next years plans - Mtn. Home, my grandparents used to vacation there!

Cool!

Less than 3 weeks till we meet in Ozark, Arkansas.

A couple of updates:

1. There is a little "home cooking" style restaurant on the property of the Ozark Motel. They will have a room for our group on Saturday evening around 7:00 for dinner - Steak Night.

2. We will also be giving out door prizes that same evening, so if you have something you want to donate, please bring it. If you don't have room to bring it with you, mailing it to the Ozark motel will be fine. Make sure you address it to the attention of the BMW R1150R Group. Joan will hold them for us until we arrive. The address is located at the bottom of the page at this link http://www.ozarkmotel.com/contact.php

It is going to be great weather (Joan and Ron have assured me), and it appears we will be hitting the peak of the color change.

I take that back....

I hope everyone has a great time, and rides safe.

I'm really not too worried about pictures and reports with the group that's attending. I just can't wait to see them.

Hope to catch you all next year!

Mark....I'm in shock......how vulgar. I never made any reference to where one might find one of your thumbs, it's not my business and I don't care to know.

I just found your earlier comment about the "krappy time" shocking, specially coming from a person of your upbringing and stature.......

I booked my room today. I think that it may be the last in the block.

Plan:
Ride to Indy on Wednesday night and visit one of my college roomates.
Ride to Bentonville, AR area Thursday, and visit my cousin
Meet up with others riding somewhere along the road in AR on Friday, and stay at Ozark motel Fri and Sat.
Sunday-Tuesday follow RB to Topton
Wednesday return to sunny Ohio

Wednesday departure is the only thing in question.

Well, reality of work and family have intervened and I will have to be canceling my plans to attend this fine gathering. It was further than I thought, requiring some extra travel days and I don't have enough vacation time left. My Army son is coming home the week after for his pre-deployment leave and I need to save some time to spend with him.

You guys and gals have a great time and I want to thank Gypsy for doing such a fine job organizing this thing. I an sure everyone will enjoy it. People from this board always have a good time when they get together!

Oh, darn. After all our sparring in Patrick's Playhouse, I was looking forward to finally meeting you face to face. :(
But pre-deployment leave is important these days.

Biff

Happy to hear you're taking me up on the invite to ride the Smokies after Ark.

Vann, sorry to hear you can't make it. I was hoping we could get you to take us on another of your super secret ride routes in the Carolina mtns. Maybe you can take off just one day, I hear there's a lot of Flu going around the Asheville area. :)

The invitation is still open. Again, it's nothing formal, there's no cost and I'm not cooking for anybody.
Just a layover on the way home from Ark, with a day or so of additional mtn riding.

NoRRmad - I didn't even know you were coming! I would have enjoyed meeting you but if you get this way, let me know. Although we should probably just ride and talk bikes!

RB - Unfortunately, I would have not been in the NC mountains long going to Ark. It would have been 'hammer down' on I-40. But I will be around for some weekend riding. We can meet up! Shoot me an email or PM.
