Me too. But the Bulbs ARE from a reputable company, Oscram makes a good product.

Their 50% more bulbs made very close to 50% more in some rather extensive testing I did for the BMW Car Club of America..

The downside of +90% bulbs will be bulb life. You could achieve this if you used a different design called "HIR" (Google it..) - but if these are standard halogens - they're tightening up the filament to make it brighter, which results in a shorter lifetime.

Tradeoffs in everything..

I read about HIR's in the past. Oscram is doing what you said, tighter tolerances thinner fliaments, etc. If they acheive 75% of the life of a standard bulb that would OK by me.
