Hand guards installation tips, help

Hello, I have just purchase hand guards for my Rock from our buy/sell/trade section and have some questions about the installation. I have Throttlemeiser bar end weights and would like to keep the functionality of a throttle lock. Is it possible? Any suggestions?? Thanks.

pretty sure, from previous post that if you want to use GS handguards, you have to have a GS throttle lock.

Yep, the Throttlemeister will work just fine with the GS handguards. Had them on my last Rock, and will be installing on my new one. You need to order the part from Throttlemeister that is made to attach the 'meisters with handguards. Just call them @ 414-464-6060 and tell them what you are trying to accomplish- they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

My bike came with 2 uninstalled brand new GS Tall Hanguards - I tried to see if they would fit the handlebar that I have, but they don't. I think they were on when the bike had the original Rockster handlbars, but after they installed the new handlebars (I believe they came from an R model), the previous owner just never bothered installing them, I guess. Do they make a difference in the winter?

I'm thinking of reverting back to the original Rockster handlebars. Are they comfortable, and are they hard to install?

I've seen pics of the R1150Rs with the GS handguards installed. I know with my Rockster's stock bars, I had to dremel them in spots to fit the cables properly. My dremeling was mostly on the the left one, but most posts I've seen indicate that the right one is usually the one that needs attention.
Since both my Rocks came with stock bars, don't know about installation. However, I think it would not be difficult, especially since the cables are long enough that they won't need to be changed.
Yes, I did get your payment and shipped today. I think you will really like the higher seat!

I installed handguards for the '04 1150 GS on my Rockster with the throttlemeister.

You do need the throttlemeister adapter.

The installation will reguire a little triming where the guards meet the bango bolts for the clutch & front brake. Otherwise it's a straightforward installation.

I like them.
