I'd like a BMW emblem for the handlebars...

Post by adg44 »

I saw the K1200 bikes have this. Instead of the black plastic circular cover in the middle, right below the handlebars, there was the BMW ensignia.

Does anyone sell anything to do this? I think it would be a nice, tasteful modification.

Most dealers stock them. It's just the standard roundel, only a couple dollars IIRC.

I think Wunderlich or Bobs BMW do different stuff you can stick in that gap, like an air thermometer etc.

Check out Eurotech Motorsports as this URL:

The pic shows the emblem as black, but the site says they can't show the actual BMW roundel that is shipped with the triple clamp cover.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that!

I made my own.

Just order the BMW roundel from the tail light..It's a metal sticker and very cheap.

I had a friend spin the black plastic plug on a lathe and recessed it so the roundel sits flush and glued it in.

A friend of mine just stuck his on the big black plastic plug and it looks just as good as mine. (untill you look real close).. :D

I just stuck mine on the cap - it's not going anywhere and it's almost all covered up with farkle!

HI OU812

Part Number: 0260 $38 from Eurotech. (Address on this article).

I went to my local printers and had them print one for me on vinyl. I've had it on for about 2 years and it looks like new.

For the longest time I thought that the Roundel was stock to the cover below the ignition key, as my RR had one on it when I purchased it. Looking closer at it, it's just stuck on there like R4R&R mentioned. I believe the part used was purchased from the BMW dealer.

I had one of those - very handy - except when the innards became detached so the whole internals rotated as the engine vibrated... :( Was ok for about 6 months like that, then (unsurprisingly) the face moved relative to the workings and it was utterly unaccurate.

I am looking for the part number ouf the smaller roundel, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I did see this on Bob's BMW, and it's pretty interesting, although maybe a little too "look at me" typical BMW owner style. ;)

I spoke too soon.

Roundel, 45mm covex style (1 3/4"), Part # 36131181082 - $3.90

Roundel, (1 5/8"), Part #46542300045 - $6.39

Now I just need to measure.... I am thinking it's the first one though.

You guys forget what your riding sometimes? I don't have to stick on a logo to know what's underneath me, I just look down at the two big cylinders sticking out the sides in front of my feet, it's a pretty easy get.

It just looks ugly with the black circle of plastic in the middle. I saw a K1200R that had a BMW emblem there, and it just makes sense.

I think we need the $3.90 emblem, but I still haven't measured.
