keep up with the crotch rockets

You'll be surprised how well you can keep up with the crotch rockets once the going gets a bit twisty. I've had to modify my riding style after shifting from one of the aforementioned motorcycles to one of the "old man bikes" that my friends keep teasing me about, but, by God they get a bi...

speed, that's what I need

As far as I can determine with my fat ass on top of the poor little bike and the pillion in a million in tow, I can get about 197km out of the old girl. Funnily enough, that is exactly what the manual says the top speed is. Ironic?! The manual seems pretty truthful in most things. One of those thing...

Mine did not come with the accessory socket and the $95AU price tag has put me off buying one. None of the Australian accessory plugs actually fit into the standard euro socket anyway!!

Bitubo

Whilst doing some research on this topic I came across Maxmoto in San Fran Cisco. They quoted me a price of us$1645 for a pair of bitubo shocks fitted in the SF bay area. Pitty I am in Australia. Might be worth a look though. Prices in Australia were about au$3000 for the same package. http://www.ma...

oil consumption

Guys,

Roc is back in the shop after my trip for the 20000K service and to have "a deeper look" at the oil consumption. I will keep you informed of the progress. No news yet. They have had the bike for 3 days so far.

Blue Duck Inn

Guys, The road from omeo to falls creek is still dirt. According to the owner of the Blue Duck Inn they have just dumped a poo of pretty big gravel on it to resurface, so on his advice we headed back into Omeo and then through Dinner Plains and Falls Creek. DJ, That Photo looks like it was taken in ...

D'Angular

Kanetoad, I did that ride on the way back from the GP this year. I also added Mt Nebo to Samford in as well as the killer Range just west of Petrie. That is one awsome piece of road and probably one of my favourites out of all the road I have ridden in Australia. Would have been a lot better had I n...

Choke lever

I'm with Toner as well. The "choke" lever which is really just a fast idle as it is on most fuel injected bikes is left on until i notice it is revving a little high when I make my first stop down the road. It runs fine with the lever on as it is not restricting the air intake as a classic...

halo light

I do like it lots. I am also wondering how you did the conversion. I have a friend who just picked up a new 3 series beemer and was very impressed with the halo lights in the car. I was toying with the idea of the headlight conversion, but have no idea where to start. Can you post some details on ho...

excess oil

Thanks guy, The Roc is booked into the dealer on Monday to have a look at the excess oil and carry out warranty work on the fuel lines. I have heard that a change to fully synthetic oil will reduce the oil consumption, but it was suggested to wait until 20K km. It might be worth a try to see if it r...

A very similar thing happend to me about 5 years ago. I started riding with a group of people that I was not familiar with when I first moved to town. They were riding exuberently to say the least. I was tootling along at about 140 when one of the riders inched past me without warning on a dual carr...

excess oil consumption

Guys, My Roc only has 15K km on the clock but seems to be using an excessive amount of oil. The manual says that it is within spec if it burns up to 1litre per 1000km, which is about what my bike is burning. This seems way excessive to me, especially coming from a yamaha which burnt maybe 150ml betw...
