Re: About to go look at 2004 R1150R -- need advice
Bought my '02 home last July. It was about 300 miles away. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I checked it over so I rented a special motorcycle trailer from Uhaul for about $19.00 and got a couple of tie downs for about $10.00. It turns out the front tire was in bad shape and it rained prett...

Need help on extending brake and shifter levers
I've got size 12 boots and the shifter and brake levers are just not far out enough for me. I did a search on this board with no luck on the matter. Is there an easy and inexpensive way or parts to extend them forward about two inches? Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't rain get into the stock muffler if it were on the bike?

Re: Found the perfect exhaust tip!
Sunbeemer,
Actually, no. The pillion's feet would not get hot as you can rotate the slanted part of the end of the tip in any direction you'd like. Also, the pillion's foot peg is far left of the tip. It's difficult to see from the picture. You should see a Dr. about that foot fetish though.

I'll have to leave your luggage question to someone else as I don't have any. The best part is no more sewing machine. Just a low tiger growl.

Re: Found the perfect exhaust tip!
I just installed the new tip. Here are a few pictures. You'll notice I took a few with the stock chrome shield and without. Personally, it doesn't look right with the shield as it's not the same width. You'll also notice that I turned the slanted part outwards to keep the heat away from anything imp...

Found the perfect exhaust tip!
I removed my muffler last week and have been on the hunt for the perfect stainless steel exhaust tip. I went to about 4 different auto part stores with no luck. All they had were chromed, which would start to rust after the 1st rain. So today, just by happenstance, I was in the auto section at Walma...

I actually just ordered these for the K1200RS mirrors on my 1150R. From what other discussion forums have stated, they are a definite improvement. Good luck!

Looking for ideas on a chrome tip
Just removed my muffler today. Great sound! I'd like to see the different options of which chrome tips to install. After doing a search here, I only found one, a square one

Re: softcase for r1150r
I use the Cortech tail bag and am about to purchase the two matching side bags. They are very durable and look very cool on the 1150R. They also detach quickly and easily. Take a look here: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/71/5241/ITEM/Tour-Master-Cortech-Sport-Saddlebag.aspx http://www.moto...

Re: Your opinion on a textile convertible pant
Thanks again to all of your very helpful info. I just purchased two separate pants. The first is a pair of the BMW Airflow 3. They're supposed to be great high tech protection and flow a lot of air. I tried on a pair and really liked them. I also got a pair of the Spidi Teker perforated leather pant...

Your opinion on a textile convertible pant
After owning my beautiful 1150R since last July, I'm finally ready to get some protective pants. Yes, I have everything else that protects everything else. I now realize that most riders out there neglect the pants over everything else. Do most of you have 1 pant per season or situation? I'd like to...

Re: My recommendation for headlight bulbs
Airman: I think if you look at the comparison page for both, the +80 will put out more lumens (brightness) than the +50. They are considered one of the best, most efficient bulbs out there. I really don't care if they last me only 10K miles. I have piece of mind seeing and being seen better at night.

I'm keeping one for backup. Thanks anyway. BTW, I'm very happy with the amount of light this bulb puts out.

My recommendation for headlight bulbs
I've taken so much great info from this site, I thought I'd give something back. Well, I probably spent way too much time researching bulbs for my trusty 1150R. It turns out the best bulb without upgrading your harness is the same one I bought for my Sequoia. It's the Philips X-Treme Power 80% H4. I...
