Re: Michelin pilot 4 tires
I have a set of gt on my 2004. If you want a match set you will need to get the gt. They only make a gt size for the rear, but gt and regular for the front. I like the tires and have not experienced any issues. I have not noticed any ride issues eventhough the gt is designed for a heavier bike they s...

Re: tire talk
Got the p4. Front and rear. No wet riding yet. So far I'm very happy. Great cornering. I'm not a super aggressive rider, and the tires have held well on the curves I have hit. I would bet they would hold real well at an aggressive lean angle. Slab riding is fine as well, kind of unmentionable.. comf...

Re: is this a tank of bad gas or something else?
Worked through half the tank with the help of some Seafoam. Topped off with premium from another station. Running better, a bit rough, still hard to start, but stalling has reduced. Throttle response is better but not back to normal. Hopefully I'm on the way back to normalcy. Just of of curiosity ho...

is this a tank of bad gas or something else?
Filled up on the way home yesterday. 4.5 gallons. 2 mile ride home was uneventful. The morning commute to the office sucked. Rough idle. Unstable idle. Stalling out. I had to engage the fast idle lever to prevent stalling out when stopped . Idle would flux from 1500 RPM to as low as 900 and also as ...

Re: Getting a throttlemeister
Throttlemeister was delivered and installed without issue. I opted for the heavy size. They weighed in at 11.5 ounces, right side, the actual throttlemeister and 12.4 ounces left side. Installation was straight forward. Direction were sufficient, but the pictures could have been better. The product ...

Re: tire talk
I was considering the pilot 4, or metz 880. Leaning towards the pilot 4. Both seem to have good reviews, from reputable manufactures. I'll keep you posted.

tire talk
Looks like it is time for new tires. What is the latest out there? My buddy put a set of dunlop Q 3 on his bike and really like them. But it doesn't seem like they have a rear that will fit the RR. These are the sizes current on there, Metzler z 6 interact front 120 70 z r 17 (58w) rear 170 60 z r 1...

Getting a throttlemeister
Folks,
I am going to get a throttlemeister. Any insight on where to purchase online? Installation looks pretty straight forward. Any pitfalls specific to the RR I should watch out for?

Re: lights out..wtf!?
Dammit! I cut those ties a long time ago. Any idea which wire in there feeds the lights? Nothing else is impacted at the moment. Will I or should I replace the whole harness? Crap how much does a new harness cost?

lights out..wtf!?
So been off the bike for a few weeks, sinus infection, holidays etc, but enough complaining. Got on the bike this morning, everything started generally a good sign. Lights worked, dash lights were on. Rolling down the street hit a bump, the right side front turn signal goes dark. I hoped hitting ano...

Re: black spots..dots..speckles on exhaust pipe?
You bring up a good point. I'll try cleaning the pipes to see if that was the source of the discoloration. Next question, what do I use to clean these things? I am sure the auto parts store has something, but any suggestions are welcome.

Re: black spots..dots..speckles on exhaust pipe?
I do not think it is road tar or anything like that. I'll try to get a photo. It is hard to describe. Maybe stipulating would be a good word to describe what I am seeing.

Re: signal minder only half minding
Man, just when I thought I was out...I get pulled back in. Appreciate the link, will certainly keep an eye on the turn signals to see if they act up over the next few weeks. Oh and just to heap on to the todo list...the right front turn signal went out today. All joking aside. I do very much appreci...

black spots..dots..speckles on exhaust pipe?
Gents. While doing an oil change today I noticed some black speckling spots on the exhaust pipe. I have heard of the bluing that can happen to the headers but this is occurring on the section of pipe closer to where it connects to the cat.It seems there is more of this speckling on the left pipe tha...

Re: signal minder only half minding
Finally did a bit more research on this while I was doing an oil change. Got out a stop watch and the instruction manual. I must have done something that altered the settings as the sm worked like it should, though 45 seconds is a long time when you are waiting for a flashing light to stop. I adjust...

signal minder only half minding
I noticed today that my signal minder seems to only work for right turns. Self canceling feature works properly for right turns, but not for left. Is this a sign of early failure? The running light feature still work properly, as does the flashing brake feature. Thoughts? Will giggling the wires in ...

Re: an aromatic slow ride
Nice one.. I can always count on tower worker for some good humor. I would be surprised though if the clutch could not handle some slow speed manuevering. I only did drills for about 20 or 25 minutes and that included a couple of cool down runs up into 3rd gear in an attempt to keep things cool. Eh ...

an aromatic slow ride
So I was working on some slow riding skills (figure 8, u turns, cone weaves etc) the other day. At the end I noticed an odd smell..not sure how to describe it almost like a burning but not exactly. I am sure I heated up the rear brake as I was on it it a lot. I was also riding the clutch pretty har...
