Thanks for the post - In checking my 2002 out, I found wire harness zip tied on both sides of the tank, and absorbing a lot of presure in the process. After cutting and re-sip tying, it's much better. This discussion board has saved my bacon more than I can count! --Steve

An interesting experienment that I tried was to leave the cat in, but remove the muffler - what I found on my 02 R1150R was that there wasn't much noticable change in sound. The Cat was so restrictive that you didn't need the muffler. I ultimately removed the Cat with a Y-Pipe I got for about $100. ...

Dude, I have a 2002 1150 R and have a new Rick Mayer seat - it brought the joy back to long rides! I'm no spring chicken...being a lot closer to 50 than 40, and having a little cushion and support for my posterior cheeks is amazing.

I've seen some bikes with what look like plastic BMW OEM covers for the injectors. Rumor has it that they only cost about $4.00 each. Has anyone seen these. The goal is to protect the injectors from junk flying up from the road.

I just did mine last night, but now I occasionally get a small "POP" at low RPM's. Any one know why? I do like the peppy-ness it gives the 2002 R. Thanks....Steve

So here's the real question - how/where can an average joe like us learn to handle our bike like these guys? I happen to live in Roseville and agree, these guys (and girls) are amazing!
