The Breva V 1100 has weight and power similar to the R1150R but with a longer wheelbase. They are nice bikes, but the lighter more powerful R1200R, The S4R Monster or the Triumph Speed triple do a lot more for me than the Guzzi. I'll stick with my Mt-01 for a while. It handles better than my Roadste...

Gary, That is a lot of oil. Is there any chance it is leaking past the rear seal and into the bell housing? Normally, with an automatic tranny, the bell housing would drain through a pinhole near the lower front, but it could be clogged. It sounds to me like your beast is ready to be replaced, but y...

I love mine. Venting is excellent. The visor is great fior city riding. It will strain your neck above 80 mph, but come off in 3 minutes. I get almost zero fogging on hot or cold rainy days. This is the reason i bought it. I love this helmet. Note. if your riding is more highway than city, you might...

A few things. I have a pair of Firstgear HT overpants and simply love them. However, after four years of Tokyo commuting, they are finally leaking in the crotch. Once they started leaking, they leaked a lot. The good. True riding pants with knee and hip armor. Comfy in temperatures below 85 degrees ...

Dave,
The R1150R was only made from 2002 through 2006. The seat will only fir models in that range. (Although it will fit the R850R from the same years.)

Cheers,
Jeff

Although my Icon Strongarm jacket only has kleather sleeves, it has elbow and shoulder armor. It is harly noticeable to the onlooker. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/photos/OG/g20779.jpg This is a great three season jacket that looks great off the bike too. It is too hot for summer use, but ver...

Was stationary on several steep hills so thought about the original post. Right, holding bike on footbrake, awkwardly bent foot but just about managed. Then put bike into gear -both feet off the ground, what's holding the bike up? A mental experiment only- don't try that at home. Now my way, click ...

I agree about the reservoirs, seat and oil cooler. As for the power, yes people want more power. It has been the #1 "opportunity" for improvement over the years of R1150R.net. Pillion makes no difference to me, so I suppose to each his own. As long as a small tail bag fits it, I'm OK. The ...

Arai XD

Mike, I'm glad you are enjoying the ride. Some more pics would be nice. DJ; Mike is right about the helmet. Very comfy for me,, great visibility, excellent venting and the chin room, like Mike wrote, is an added bonus. In rain and cold their is very little foging due to the vents. This is the main r...

Long ago some of the guys here found that the wiring harness was tied too tight around the steering head. The solution is to clip one of the wire ties to free up some slack.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you already have a short or loose connection.

I hope this helps.

You could always get a mechanical traffic cop like they use here in Tokyo. He could ride pillion and protect your bike when parked. :D

I have to say that I didn't like the tall "comfort" seat too much. The foam and position was good, but the front of the seat is narrower than stock and cause some butt pain. The Corbin looks good but $800 is a lot of money for a seat. Before you spend the cash you might check a local uphol...

Adam;
Try to find some aluminum about .060" (1.5mm) thick.

You will find it much easier to work with. The strength is more than sufficient for the task.

Getting old kills people too, but I'm still going to do it.

Remember too that a decapitation, although gruesome for the witnesses is not all that different to the victim than a heart attack, stroke or being eaten by an aligator.
