Re: Removed the rear muffler, LOVE the sound!
I just took off the muffler on mine after reading this post. You are right! It sounds awesome! I ordered the 13" chrome pipe for it too. I think I'll have to do something to prevent the bag from melting though. Maybe a heat shield?

K1200RS Mirrors on My RR
I've been wanting a set of these mirrors ever since I first saw them on a R1150R. Never liked the stock mirrors. I thought about buying new ones but at $87 EACH + $4 for the nut + $2 for a washer it just was not going to happen. :smt103 :smt103 I finally found a set on e-bay and got them for $34 and...

Re: Ride Review - Laminar Lip on Parabellum Windshield
I had some bad buffeting with my BMW Touring Screen too. I wear an Arai Quantum II helmit. It drove me crazy. I tried to change the angle of the screen with spacers but that didn't work out. I installed a Laminar Lip and it made a difference I can live with. There is still a bit of buffeting but not...

CycleRob,
I am in envy of your position. Some day I too hope to say "I'll never move back to Connecticut".
Winter, snow and freezing temps. are evil!

Re: STAYS AT 130MPH
The only way you're going to get it to 150 mph is to go to your local airport, load the bike in a plane, climb to 5000 ft., open the door and SHOVE IT OUT!!! :smt051 It should reach the 150 mph mark quite quickly. :smt103 I wish manufacturers would use speedometers that didn't have unrealistic high ...

Re: Cold Weather Riding Safety
The only cold riding I'll be doing for the next 3 or so months is in my Buick!
Everything around here is covered in ICE, except for my bike and my Miata which are under covers in the garage.
Winter is EVIL!

Re: Idle for a month...gettting back on the road
Wow. A whole month!
I won't get to ride till March (3 months from now) unless global warming really shows up,
and I haven't ridden since 2 months ago.
I have less than no use for winter.
You should be good to go. I'm jealous

Italian Tune Up to Decarbon??
Is giving the boxer an "Italian Tune Up" a reasonable way to decarbon the piston top? If so how long would it take to do so? Looking into the cylinder throught the spark plug hole shows a little more carbon than I would think there should be in my bike. It does run real good though. I don'...

Re: Moose versus motorcycle
Last 4th of July I encountered a full grown male moose (dinosaur) in the middle of the road as I rounded a sharp corner. :smt103 :smt103 This in south central Massachusetts! Just lucky I wasn't flying through the corners like I usually do. I could have recked the bike! Bullwinkle didn't seem to be b...

Re: Windshield
Owldaddy, I'm thinking about getting a Laminar Lip for my touring screen too. I just don't know if it would help any with the buffeting of my helmet. When you sit on your bike, how many inches do you look over the screen? (I'm trying to come up with a comparison to my helmit position.) Right now eve...

Re: Installing Aux. Lights
I got everything back together and everything still works. :D The lights are right above the exhaust header and they get HOT!! #-o I can't hold my hand on them for more than a few seconds!! I hope the bulbs don't burn out fast. I would post pics but I have a problem with that. I can tear down a bike...

Installing Aux. Lights
Today I tore by bike apart to install a set of Hella fog lights. 8-[ I wasn't sure where I wanted them, fork mount (I'd have to make a bracket) or under the oil coolers. I decided on the oil coolers. This is the first time I've removed the gas tank. :smt087 After reading about all the trouble people...

Boy, that doesn't sound to good. I hate to rain on your parade but it sounds like you may have gauled or stripped threads. I wish you good luck. If they are I wonder if you could put a helicoil in the TB to repair it.

I always wondered if it was ever a good thing to "lay the bike down" before an eminent crash.
I don't intend to find out the hard way! Thanks for the info.

I bought them but haven't yet molded them to my ears. I'm surprised that my full face Arai Q2 has so much wind noise.

Re: Parabellum Scout Fairing Info Wanted
I'd post a pic of my bar backs but I can't seem to make that happen. They are angular in shape and one of the mounting screws goes through the rounded section that the handle bar sits in, to mount it to the bike. They also have "LEH039 KBH90730" stamped in the side of them.
