Re: Remus header pipe question
Seems you need at least some sort of response. I have a full Remus system on my 2007 R1200R, and am not having the issue you describe. There is some adjustment and slack in the pipes, so you may just need to loosen all the clamps and slide the pipes around so they line up with your stop correctly. G...

Re: Need help with my turn signal
I swapped the left and right bulbs just to make sure it was indeed a bulb issue. Now both are working again. Go figure.
I checked my 2009 GSA stock bulbs to see if they were different. They have the 160 degree offset pins. My 2007 has 180 degree pins. Go figure.

Re: New to me '07 r1200r non abs, just a few questions pleas
I have a 2007 R12R I bought new without ABS. The brakes are not linked.
Easy way to tell if you have a center stand. Apply one of the brake levers and see which wheels won't spin.

Need help with my turn signal
I had a rear turn signal bulb go out on my 2007 R12R today. The problem is I replaced the stock amber lenses with "clear" (white) lenses shortly after buying the bike new to improve the look. And those lenses came with non-oem "chrome" bulbs. They're 18W 12V, and glow amber when ...

Re: Wheel Flange recall
I had my wheel flange replaced today. Doing as many as they are doing, they've gotten pretty fast at it. It took about an hour while I waited.
Next up? Complaints about the rusty new wheel flange!

I own both a 2007 RT and 2007 R....as well as a GSA and others. If I had to go down to just one bike, I'd keep the RT.

Re: R1200RT vs. R1200R
The feel of the bike is definitely heavier and less stable than the well balanced feel of the RR 2-up, but probably that is because I dont have a lot of seat time on the RT. As I said before, the stock RT suspension sucks. If you get one, get it without the ESA and put an aftermarket pair on it. It...

Re: R1200RT vs. R1200R
I currently own both the R and the RT. Both have their purpose. If you're going to carry a passenger, or do some serious traveling, get the RT. And get it without ESA. The stock suspension on the RT is terrible...ESA or not. Save the money and buy Ohlins (or Wilbers or whatever) after you get the bi...

Re: Remus COMPLETE exhuast system(???)
No, I don't have dyno results. But I will say that after I installed the Remus (Powercone) full system on my R1200R, the grin factor went way up once I hit the 5k rpm area and above. And I like that it's lighter and MUCH cleaner looking than the stock setup. I've also added Ohlins, and it is simply ...

Re: black deposit on rear wheel
With the bike on the centerstand, engine off or on, spinning the rear wheel by hand and applying the brake handle. My brakes are not linked. It's a 2007 model. I ordered it from the dealer. It's nothing special. I followed the brake lines...not linked.

Re: black deposit on rear wheel
I got the bike back from the dealer, and no trouble found. The flange was not loose and everything seemed in order. They're a good dealer, so I trust their findings. I have only 1500 miles on it. That said, I still wonder where the dust is coming from. My bike DOES NOT have linked brakes. I don't ha...

Yeah...very similar in my opinion. My favorite is the one I happen to be riding at the time.
One definite advantage with the RR is you have double the fuel range as the MM.

Re: Advice on R12R fit for 6'2" with 35" inseam
Jay!!!! What's news? I also have an '07 R1200R to go along with my MM. I ordered it with the high seat, and put a suburban machinery peg lowering kit on it. I also have the full Remus exhaust, and just added Ohlins front and rear. I'm 6'4", and comfy as can be! When I ordered the bike, I asked ...

Re: black deposit on rear wheel
The other reason I'm pretty sure it's not just brake dust is becasue none of my other 2007 R bikes exibit the same symptom. And this dust seems to hit the wheel in droplets that leave a tail. When I've seen brake dust, it's spread more evenly over the rim. I'm also seeing MUCH more of this dust on t...

Re: black deposit on rear wheel
I've had this same issue on mine since new. I wipe it off and it comes back after about 200 miles. It's not oil becasue it wipes off easily. It's not brake dust, becasue I get the dust even if I don't use the rear brake. None of my other BMWs do this. I found this post on another forum: The rear whe...

Re: Test Ride Feedback - R1200R and R1200GS
Hi Mark, When I ordered my R1200R, I asked for the tall seat. It does make a difference in comfort, both leg room and butt padding. I also bought the Suburban Machinery peg lowering kit. At 6'4", I need all the help I can get. I ordered the bike with only the center stand, sport screen, and hea...
