Re: Great Ride

I love Steamboat. I have not been yet this year on the bike, but went a couple of times over the winter. I got my 2 wheeled baby 2 seasons ago and have gone up to Steamboat on the bike a half of dozen times or so.

If you make it this way, shoot me a [email protected]

Keep it upright

Re: Great Ride

Hey Thanks for the words guys. I am going to have to check out this "Oh My God Road". Anything with that name HAS to be good.

My next two weekends are shot, but I should be good after that!!

Great Ride

Hey All, I spend some time lurking on this site and ask the occasional question. I have benefited immensely from your input. I just thought I would share some happy news. First, I received my title today. Yes, last payment made. The girl is mine. Second, I celebrated before the title arrived by taki...

Re: Lowering Kit

Nice pic. I just checked into what it would cost to lower the suspension. $689.00 will gain me up to an inch and $985.00 will get me up to 1.2 inches. Ouch. I think I will shave the seat mount and just leave it at that. Maybe I will get some big soled boots and paint my face up like Gene Simons with...

Re: Lowering Kit

Good options. Thanks guys. Now that you mention it, I did remember seeing something about shaving the rubber mounts from posts of days pasts. I "had" the low seat, but found it to be so uncomfortable on long rides that I have gone out and gotten a more cushy one. Yes, I know. It makes my h...

Lowering Kit

I've had my 2004 for a couple of years now and I continue to struggle with the height. I have a 29" inseam. Has anyone had experience with lowering kits of any sort?

Thanks guys,

I have decided to hold off for a bit. Cash is tight.

I will look them up when I decide to have a go at it though

Sargent Seat is Very Nice!

Got to go out for a short run today. Just under 100Mi total. I find the seat along with the barback I installed to be a very comfortable ride. I did find that I am at my tippy toes when coming to a stop. So far, not a problem. Some concern for when I will have to pull off on those uneven gravel park...

Re: My seat arrived today

I will give it some time before I make my decision.

Say, has anyone heard of a type of clamp or something that is attached and provides some type of pre-load? I was talking with a guy who owns a Harley today and he mentioned something about that?

Thanks,

Tony

Hey All, The height of the Sargent seat I got is about an inch higher than the low seat I got with the bike. It is wider, particularly in the back. I talked with them about trimming it down, but they certainly won't offer any guarantees. I saw the idea of trimming down the stoppers for the seat and ...

My seat arrived today

My beautiful new seat came from Sargent today. Though it was cold and windy, I couldn't help but get on for a few turns. I daresay it was a great improvement in comfort, if only for a short ride. Problem is, I have now gone from being able to get just the ball of my feet on the ground to now really ...

Hey GypsyRR,

I agree with you on the slideshow and in particular the song choice. Made me want to get right back out there.

Where are you in Colorado? I'm in Frederick just outside of Longmont.

I have not let anyone ride my bike, and I don't plan on changing this practice anytime soon. My insurance will not cover the bike for damages if wrecked by anyone but myself. They will cover damage to another vehicle and they would pay the medical....but not the bike. Sooooo.... No. Not likely to ha...

Excellent slideshow. Some of brought back memories. I went through the Blackhills of SD and then the Badlands last spring.

When younger, taller and in better shape, I climbed Devils tower.

Thanks for the slide show. It looks like you had a wonderful trip.

Boxer, Thanks for the input. No I am not a member of the BMW MOA. But I will be looking into them this weekend. I do appreciate your offer to assist when you are riding through in July. Where in Wyoming are you going? I do hope to have this taken care of before July, but I would like to invite you t...

Thanks Guys, JF Slatter98, Just a plain seat didn't concern me. I've had mine off a few times. It is a simple procedure. Attaching the wires for a heated seat, now that is the question. Sledge, Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, it may be awhile before I can pull the 16 hour trip to get there. I t...

CycleRob, Sounds serious. I will take your advice and not tackle the light install myself. Should this refer to the seat as well? Is it that the tank is difficult to remove? (I'm thinking heated seat also) I live outside of Longmont, Colorado. If there is someone who would be willing to help.....wel...

Mechanical Dunce

Hey All, I am an admitted dunce when it comes to all things mechanical. Worse if it involves electrical stuff (is that the correct technical term?) I frequently read the posts on this site and am amazed at the apparent knowledge base. I'm writing now because I am hoping to find out how difficult it ...
