Re: My Electronics Tank Box Version 2.0 - Think Inside the Box

Great solution you've got there for a load of aplications. It ain't pretty though but it shure looks pretty sturdy and usefull. I also use a SW Motech QL tankbag but the way I'm build and the way the bag is positioned I won't be able to see anything of a GPS screen mounted at the position you are u...

Re: NOW AVAILABLE FROM SARGENT CYCLE PRODUCTS!

Have you received your seat yet? My wife is waiting to hear what your take is on the seat - she wants heat - after having a GT - she is spoiled. We want pictures and info as soon as you get your seat. They shipped it today (I asked them to wait until today since I was going on vacation an...

Re: A new custom sporty windshield.

That looks very good!! THe frame is very nicely made and the angle the screen is mounted at is perfect to fot the lines of the R1200R. Your R still remains one of the coolest I've seen up to date.

Re: Which tank bag?

Another happy SW Motech Baglux user. I went for the big Trail QL bag and love it as it makes the bike yet that more versatile for getting stuff around town or going for a long weekend city trip. It will hold plenty of clothes or put al the hard stuff like shoes in there and just some soft stuff in ...

Re: Ordering New R1200R

Don't go for the ESA is my opinion, just save the money to buy some real good quality shocks or at least have the rear reasprung(cause the rear shock is quite good as it is) and have a front fitted suited to your driving and weight with bound and rebound adjusters. Lot's of people over here have goo...

The cat on these bikes also get silly hot so if anything happens there(like parking in hogh dry grass or whatever) a fire is very easely started.

Re: Another day.. another recall..

Went to the dealer yesterday and turned out my steering damper didn't need replacing they just wanted to make sure. BTW the corosion cleaned of with a scothbright type of thing and as it was on the part of the shaft that doesn't move threw the seals at all I guess it will be fine. Might be a good id...

Re: Another day.. another recall..

That's interesting. Mine is from the end of 2006 and dealer still called me in to have it looked at. Thing is when I checked I did find some nasty corosion on top of the shocks shaft witch can't be good for the seals. When the rain goes I will drop by to have it looked at.

Re: Another day.. another recall..

Have it fixed if your bike is made before march 2008. The number of brakedowns is so high with the faulty antenna's that I wouldn't run the risc. I had mine done before my vacation as I didn't want a antenna failure to ruin it. I never had faults before with the antenna but went ahead anyway. And ov...

Re: Another day.. another recall..

Got a letter yeaterday about the steering damper recall. I expected mine to be excluded because mine is from the end of 2006 but apperently I also need to have mine replaced.

Mounted a TomTom One V3 to my R1200R

Using a SW Motech bag and homemade bracket I installed a TomTom One V3 nav system on the windshield bracket of my R1200R. The bracket that came suplied was origenaly ment for mounting to the handle bars but what ever position I tried it always was in front of my dashboard or hitting the tankbag. I e...

Re: Tiny hairline cracks in headlight outer lens

This can also be caused by stress in the mounting area and I have read about this before on german forums. You must try to get it replaced under warrenty if it ar just cracks and not something caused by stones or whatever.

Re: Exhaust

Thanks! It's a shame that they aren't being sold in the USA(from what I understand from other forum members who also liked it but couldn't get one) and with the dollar these days buying it online and having it send is a pretty expensive option. I also agree that the Carbonfiber looks great withn the...
