Re: hi guys and gals... a new returning rider here

Been using Oxford. Can't remember the size but it's one size smaller than the biggest. It fits almost exactly with the panniers. The cover will have little contact with the tank.

The sports screen is in contact with the cover but no sign of scratches so far. 2 years already.

Re: R1200R Classic and Michelin PR3's with tubes

I had the PR3 on my Classic for over a year and 10 k km since day one. Longest distance road was 200 km. Did a few track sessions too. No issues so far.

Re: Lowered chassis

I'm only about 5' 3", inseam of about 28". My bike is standard configuration with seat height of 800mm. I use it for commuting almost every day. I think it just takes a matter of getting used to it. But your riding condition may differ. I had a Harley for a year, only recent bike that I ca...

Re: Back to the dark side.

Well here is my comparison between the two, and please excuse me I'm not much of a writer. As I rode away from the dealer I noticed a few major differences right away not nearly as fast, doesn't stop very well and handling yeah right. But I expected these things. A Harley has that cool appeal, all ...

Re: CeeBaileys "Sport Shield" any one try one yet?

Bought my R1200R the middle of last month and ordered one of these Ceebailey sport screens first thing, waited for delivery, used it almost a full week and then left the engine running and the bike on the kickstand and it rolled over and broke the screen, so I didn't post here mostly from embarrass...

Re: I sold my R1150R,,,Bugger!

I regretted selling my two-tone R1100R for a very long time. Nothing else satisfy. Now I'm happy again with R1200R Classic, also two-tone!

Re: I just ordered a new R1200R Classic...my 1st Beemer ever

Just got back from my first ride....Headed west towards Hadrians Wall in Northumberland then cut up North to Kielder via Chollerford. Temperature varied between 8- 12 degrees C so I had a couple of stops for cups of hot tea to thaw out a bit. This bike is a contender for one of the best bikes I've ...

Re: Better MPG

My 2 months old R1200R is doing about 20 km/l (46 MPG (US) or 55 MPG (imp)), urban riding with about 70% of the time on the highway (100 km/h). This morning's ride was astonishingly frugal, with the bike's computer reading about 4.2 l/100km, or 56 MPG(US). It usually matches my actual calculation qu...

Re: New Owner: R1200R Classic - tubed tires

I would not be too concerned about tube type wheels if you do simple maintenance on them. Tube type wheels have been around since the beginning of bicycles and motorcycles. Patching a tube vs plugging a flat on the road side is all a matter of skill and perspective. As for running tubes in tubeless...

Re: New Owner: R1200R Classic - tubed tires

I love the look of the Classic too. The R1100R I had many years back actually came with spokes wheels as an option and I opted for them as spoked rims are less susceptible to bent rims. And the best part of it is that it can take tubeless tires as the spokes were GS styled. Still waiting to collect ...

New Owner: R1200R Classic - tubed tires

Hi all! I'm going to be a new owner of a 2011 R1200R Classic soon! Awaiting collection of my new ride next week. I actually have reservations about the Classic's wheel requiring a tube to be installed for the tires. The dealer had reassured me that I can use all types of tires and I had actually pro...
