Re: Cracked headlight lens *grumble*

In Australia, I bought the Ventura headlight protector.
I think it was about $25.00. The brand is from the UK?

Re: Range on a full tank

I only commute on mine 70km/44 miles? round trip including a bit of inner city freeway 6 days a week. I fill up about every 5-6 days depending on how naughty I've been riding. :D I average 4.6L/100km. ( don't even want to try to convert that.) This is better consumption than my previous bike which w...

2010 and back have a constant and smaller diameter handlebar than the new R1200R. I used 3M body tape to fill in the gap where the brackets attach to the handlebar. No problems in 5k miles.

Thanks mate.

Thanks for the photo's. :D
I've thinking about this for some time, but the Dealer said it was not possible.

Are there any difference's between your current model and the 2008 handlebars that you know of?
Pls keep us posted on how they work out,

Cheers Ty.

Re: Tire Pressurr

I run 34/40 psi in mine.

The book say's 36/42 is the max pressure for the Metzler Z6, which the bike came with.
I find I get good mileage from them at 34/40 psi (16000 kms).

Ride it like you stole it, Cheers Ty.

Re: Cleaning the bike

Being honest.....I've already washed my bike 3 times this year, Only twice last year.

I don't see the need. It will rain the next day after washing and as I use it to commute on, it gets heaps of crap on it on Freeway work going to work.

Cleaning the bike

How often do you wash/clean/polish your bike? My exhaust pipes are starting to get pitting on them. Metal polish does not seem to help much. I've been told there is a form of ceramic coating available, but no one is absolutely sure if this will stop/remove the pitting. :? Is this a common problem on...

Re: ESA and On-board Computer Thoughts

Any of these options bought will be of value. That said, the onboard computer on my 09 R1200R does vary a little in distance to empty depending on how you ride as would be expected. 8) I love the ESA. Adjusts quick & easy as Clem said. At the end of the day, its only money and when it's time to ...

Re: Welcome New Members (and old) - Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone, my name is Ty.
I have a Black 2008 R1200 with 23000kms on it. I think that's about 14000 miles?
I've had it about 18 months now and still love it. I just rode the Oxley Highway up in northern NSW Australia and had a ball.

Cheers Ty.

Re: Greetings. Newb here...

The sport shield works quite well and I'm 6 foot and a bit.
Maybe some form of crash protection and a Oil Cooler guard to start with.
I've done 2500Kms in 6 day's and a better seat would have been nicer.

Keep us posted on how you are enjoying it.

Panniers for 2008 R1200R

Just bought a 2nd hand pair of panniers from a R1150R.
But, will the Panniers from a R1150R fit my 2008 R1200R?

The seller is also unsure.

Thanks for any help
Cheers Ty.
