Re: my kingdom for a backrest
I've got a Pirate's Lair R1150R backrest I've been thinking about selling, along with a bunch of other accumulated stuff. I was going to replace the backrest with a Givi case with pad but the GF isn't, um, skinny enough to fit comfortably on the pillion with the case in place. So do I sell the Givi ...

Re: Bike dies when handlebars turned to the right.
Had this happen to me on the 300 mile trip back from the 5 State Run at Guymon ( http://www.5staterun.com/) to OKC, except that it started with left turns of the handle bars. Shame on me for not reading the forums and knowing to clip the too-tight wire ties. Unfortunately I had no time to work on th...

Cool, and thanks!
I put my order in.

Re: What's a good price for a Pirate's Lair R1150R Backrest?
Well there are no killer $100 deals coming my way and I'm not going to replace the Rick Mayer seat that I bought earlier this year, so I went ahead and picked up the Pirate's Lair backrest for $245. My rider likes it so far, we'll see what she has to say after tomorrow's all-day trip to http://www.m...

What's a good price for a Pirate's Lair R1150R Backrest?
A guy at the office has one of the now-discontinued Pirate's lair R1150R backrests for sale. He's got a '03 bike but likes the looks better sans the tail/luggage rack pieces. http://www.piratesk12site.net/1150.htm They originally sold for $345 but he's asking $245. It's in good condition. What do yo...

Went a Little Crazy With the CC at Work Today...
I guess maybe I was bored and didn't want to work. Got into one of those moods and bought myself some Christmas presents: :) (or maybe they were birthday presents) Fuel line quick-disconnects from the Beemer Boneyard: http://www.beemerboneyard.com/ A medium windshield replacement from Parabell...

Re: What kind of cage does an R rider drive?
Well this thread has rested for a while, maybe it could stand re-activation. :) Drive an '05 Nissan Xterra SE 4x4. It's handy, can pull a trailer, and has pretty good get-up-and-go for a body-on-frame SUV. Sometimes though I wish I'd have kept the little Ranger pickup for utility and supplemented it...

Thank's Biff's R.
I see that you're in Newark, I was there earlier in March. One of my sisters lives on James Rd.

Fresh Meat (New Guy)
Hey guys and gals. I recently joined the ranks of the R1150R owners with the purchase of a nice 2004 Ferro Blue/Gray ABS model. Did a lot of looking after taking the required class for motorcycle license endorsement in OK but let buying a house and then a truck get in the way. Here's a pic from the ...
