Re: 200 Days to Tennessee Bash

Maybe we should move the bash to the Holiday Inn if the Best Western is closed or booked for so long.

Re: 200 Days to Tennessee Bash

I totally forgot to make reservations so I tried tonight. Believe it or not, the Best Western is full for those nights. I was surprised. I made reservations at the Holiday Inn which is close by.

Re: 200 Days to Tennessee Bash

I am probably in! Haven't gone to a bash since Arkansas. Tennessee is much more convenient for me since I moved to Georgia last year. I will make reservations tonight!

Re: Vario Levers

I love mine! They have increased my overall comfort when riding long days because of the adjustability and perfect fit. +1!! I love mine too. I bought my Vario levers from someone off this forum who could not use them on his new RT. For someone who is neither mechanically inclined or patient (me), ...

Re: Battery Question

The dealer installed the Centech fuse block when I bought the bike. I figured that they would know how to do that correctly. They also installed the GPS and Hyperlites. The new battery just won't charge beyond 2/3. It seems to me that it should be fully charged. The old battery would at least get to...

Re: Battery Question

Thanks for the education. I am still surprised that the batteries just "die." Especially after one year. Seems crazy for a BMW. The "new" battery is still on the trickle charger and is still at 2/3. Hmm... Not sure that I should have bought a battery from a dealer who puts an Int...

Battery Question

First, let me apologize for my ignorance. I have almost no mechanical ability and mostly have no idea what I am talking about when it comes to mechanical issues with the bike. That is why I became a "Lifer" on this forum. :D I frequently need some technical assistance. Second, I did search...

Re: New Calsci windshield for R1200R

Inseam? And which seat? (Assuming low seat..) Yup, you are right, my inseam is around 29" and I do have the low seat. I do have thick thighs which reduces my actual reach to the ground. Probably TMI but you have to take that into consideration, you know. Helmets and turbulence. Have you tried ...

Re: New Calsci windshield for R1200R

Thanks Don. I appreciate your tolerance with my impatience. I really wanted to hear how it was going with that new shield. It is strange but it almost seems like the shorter the w/s, the less my helmet gets knocked around. Of course, I'm only 5'5". Haven't tried the 20" Cee Bailey though. ...

Re: New Calsci windshield for R1200R

Okay Don, it's time for the report on the Calsci w/s. I have been eagerly awaiting your analysis for almost a week now and am running out of patience. :) I need to know how it works before I buy another one. I actually like the OEM touring version that you sold me. Seems to work better than the Cee ...

Re: Help settting up R1200R

+1 on the MotoTechniques bar risers. They bring the bars up and back just enough that I don't have to reach down. And, they are much cheaper than most of the other options. Can't help with the windshield, still looking myself, and I am waaaaay shorter than you. Waiting for Don to give us a review of...

Wow, that is such a bummer! I will definitely make sure to check my bags on a regular basis. Hope that your bag is recovered. Will you insurance pay for it?

Re: New BMW Tail Bag, plus other farkles

If anyone is interested, I have one of those BMW tail bags in my garage that I would be happy to sell. I bought it for a K12R that I owned for about 5 minutes. The bag works really well but I have a trunk on the new R12R so I don't need the tail bag. Hadn't thought about selling it until I saw this ...

I had Rick Mayer do mine and it is fantastic! The longest day I have done on it was about 400 miles with absolutely no pain or irritation anywhere. I also really like the leather. I know, I know, pics are helpful. I think someone else posted a thread with pics of their Rick Mayer seat and mine looks...

I sold my R1150R because it was too heavy and was harder to manage. Moving it in the garage always gave me heart failure. I certainly am no expert on the differences in suspension like Don talked about, I just know that the 1200R "feels" better. The throttle response is night and day. It's...

Thanks for the advice. I must say that camping stuff, if you want to be comfortable, is pretty expensive. Especially those snazzy little chairs.

I would like to hijack this thread back to the original. The kermit chair discussion is making me soooooo sleepy! I think the chair is really cool (especially the monogrammed version) and definitely have put one on my wishlist. My buttocks need some serious support. To wncbmw For us camping wanna be...
