Spark Plugs available at Advance Auto

Post by towerworker »

Went into the local Advance Auto to order plugs for my 04r. Figured I would have to order them, but was thinking of trying the Autolites I have read of guys using.

The counter saleman asked me what my vehicle was--- I told him I new the part numbers since I doubted that they had my vehicle in their parts computer. To my surprise they have a seemingly complete listing of motorcycles and included the BMW.

Pleasant surprise!.....bought 4 new platinum autolites for under $10.

They also stocked the oem NGK's.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected them to have the list for the bikes although I'm sure the parts would be used in vehicles other than motorcycles. Good to know :)

Hey Wayne,
When are you going to post some pictures of your new ride since you took possession?

New Scooter (new to me)

Post by towerworker »

After totaling my 03 about 7 weeks ago I finally got my new bike in.
Actually got it a week ago friday but have been busy riding and making up for lost time. Here's a couple of pics.

It's an 04 with about 17K.

I got my last plugs at Advance Auto also. Just got the single electrode Champions. I was also surprised they had the R1150R in their database.

Yup, they have the OEM plugs (although mine had to order the bottom ones), and they also had the Iridium equivalents, so I went with those (+1 heat range on the bottom though).

Advance is the best place to buy spark plugs, as they are the less expensive than ordering online, and they can get virtually any plug.
