R1200R seats.

Post by Don C »

I made a list of R1200R seats with part numbers, to try to clear up some confusion with an ebay vendor, I thought I'd also copy the information here. This should probably be in a FAQ. Much of this is copied from the Max bmw site.

Very helpful. It's additional info I didn't have, more discriptive. Thank you, as I am trying to determine which Wunderlich seat to order. They ain't cheap.

I tried BMW high comfort seat but didn't like the additional height. I also had some custom work done to my stock seat. Turns out I am really happy with my Airhawk, which is cheaper than a replacement comfort seat, and I can also use it on other motorcycles that I own or hope to own...

The comfort saddle is wider and more comfortable. All of the seats are interchangeable. You don't need the strap if you have the handles behind your seat. But the strap doesn't hurt anything.

Thanks for taking time to make the seat list. Good info. Seats are a frequently swapped item.

I took the high comfort seat and had Kontour rebuild it. Now it is an easy 8-10 hour seat !

Hi all, I just recently picked up a 2012 R1200R CE with 152 miles on it! LONG time BMW owner and love the bike but I do have to say that the seat that was delivered with the bike, leaves a LOT to be desired, and I am one that NEVER has any problems with the stock seats! Hence my Nickname!

Looking through the catalog of available seats BMW lists a 52 53 7 706 416 Sport Seat, which looks a lot flatter than the humped whale that came on my bike!

But in this list it says that that seat came standard on 2007-2010 R1200R's. Does anyone have one of these seats in perfect condition that they would like to sell? Is that the flattest seat that BMW makes for this bike? Not so concerned with seat height, just don't need something so cupped.

Thanks and I look forward to being a Member here!
