Re: 150 MPH
150 mph indicated, or 150 mph measured by a GPS or radar gun?

Why would you be reticent to talk about your recent 'track day'?Dad2g5 wrote:150 indicated. And in NJ I rather not say online
That's my plan when I get pulled over and the officer knows how to display the max. speed on my GPS...

ps. I'd be curious how much an indicated 150mph actually is. I suspect the speedo reads a bit high - I guess the GPS is the way to go there. All the same, you're a bad, bad boy.

Re: 150 MPH
I'm not sure what it is @ 150 but @ 135 on the speedo I remember it being 127 on the GPS.

Re: 150 MPH
140mph "indicated" was my max. Give or take one or two mph. The speedo is a bit shaky at that point and I really didn't want to look at it for long. Done it twice, probably won't do it again.
Re: 150 MPH
150mph???? Presume a bit of wind roar from the screen a that speed.

Re: 150 MPH
I wouldn't worry about the GPS max speed - if I go check mine it's probably reading about 350MPH. It does that when you're on a route and the road has changed.. it looses the road for a bit, you continue riding, then when you get back to where the road hasn't changed it instantly catches up. Depending on how long it was lost for - you can see some amazing max speeds appear.Mollygrubber wrote:Why would you be reticent to talk about your recent 'track day'?

No one has ever accused me of going 350MPH on a bike (or boat or car or on-foot..)

Re: 150 MPH
My Mom used to tell me to wear clean underwear in case I was in an accident. Now I take along a set of clean underwear, in case I have an accident.
I think 150 mph on the R1200R could possibly cause an accident. In the underwear, that is.

Re: 150 MPH
Dammit, now I have to keep up with the Dad2g5's... once I was happy with a 'mere' 200km/h (approximately - once the needle was close, I really wasn't looking). Looks like I need to find those testorerone pills - and it's not even Saturday night!
Hmmm, let's see... 150mph = 240km/h...
Errr.... I think 200's OK for now. I've got a track day coming up!

Re: 150 MPH
Forgot to mention, my 140mph was without a screen. My eyes were tearing up even with a full faced helmet. I think it may have been the fear...

Re: 150 MPH
220 km/h indicated, with CeeBailey 18" screen, panniers and topcase. Somewhere in central Queensland. 137mph, or about 125 or so actual, after speedo error. Z6 Metzlers are very confidence-inspiring at that speed. But that's an aberration: it'd be bye bye licence and liberty in my home state (where I only ever trickle briefly up to 200, honest!) Still amazing for a nekkid bike.
The more amazing thing was the stability with panniers on at those speeds- my K1100LT did 220km/h indicated absolutely flat out and that was legal - Stuart Hwy, Northern Territory, 1994) - it was well faired but stil the panniers could set up a weave above 160-180km/h (K100RT would weave >140km/h; R1150RS would do 200km/h with panniers and a low ferquency weave - enough to make me slow down)

That's a good point. Did you go that fast with panniers?Caroanbill wrote:.

Re: 150 MPH
220 kmh indicated just last week with panniers and ztechnic screen and felt very stable. Good road with plenty of visability. I love speed!!
