Western NC in mid October

A group--current count is 6-- of us from the New Orleans area is riding to the Lake Santeelah/CherohalaSkyway-Deals Gap area in mid Oct.

We arrive late pm 10/16 amd will ride the area on the 17th, 18th and 19th before heading back home on Saturday.

We would like to invite any and all forum members to join us for day ride, morning ride afternoon ride, whatever. Most of our group are familiar with the area, but any suggestions would be welcome.

PM me too when the time gets closer. I am ~3 hours from the Dragon area and 40% rain or less has me there by 11AM.

Ok, will do--both of you.

It still looks like we're going to arrive 10/16. departing NO/Mandeville, La on Sunday morning ~~9-10a and then taking 3 days to get there, eventually entering via Cherohala Skwy (via sr56 and 30 in TN)

I am not sure of cellular coverage there, but will send my # via pm

PSYCHED!

Bikes are ready. biggect decidion is to bring RevIt Ultimate pants with both liners or FirstGear meshtex 2 with long underwear. I think I will leave my leather jacket at home and take RevIt Mesh with liner/heated vest and long T shirts. It has been warm, but need to check the weather up there as time goes by.

Dr. Strangelove - check the forecast! We are hot at the moment but a cold front is on the way!

And cell phones in that part of the world are not reliable.

saw the forecast--looks pretty near perfect!

we are going to have a few different carriers--ATT, verizon, sprint

We may have a laptop for i'net access

Things aren't looking good for me getting off work this week to join you. Unless you guys will still be around on Saturday!
