Balancing Act part 2

Hello fellas. My apologies to renagade for borrowing his thread's title...
My RR's front tire is due for a change after about 12k plus kms. I've purchased a Metz Roadtec Z6 for the purpose. My concern is that there is no facility in my area for balancing cast motorcycle wheels. Some people I've talked to say balancing is not necessary. Some have recommended putting in tire sealants that act as balancers at the same time. Your thoughts & suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I would have it balanced by experts...any motorcycle dealer should be able to do it..there must be a bike shop nearby?..who will be fitting the tire?

thanks, dj, for replying. i'm planning to have the tire mounted in one of those auto tire shops with pneumatic machines. their mechanics claim they can do it, but i'll have to have my eyes glued to their work!... It's the balancing that's presenting as a problem. i was told that there's some sort of adaptor so that motorcycle wheels can be mounted on auto wheel balancing machines. do those adaptors even exist?

oh and. sure there are bike shops here, but mainly for underbones and small displacement numbers. i've asked around in these places and all i get are perplexed stares ("what do want to balance your wheels for?!?).

You should get the tires balanced. I don't know if you are replacing both tires or just the one, but alot of cycle shops require a special adapter for the rear rim being that is a single sidearm mounted. I had to call several places around town before I found one that could do it. Good luck.

thanks taosports! very interesting product. hmmm... considering there are no bike wheel balancing facilities hereabouts, i can earn some bucks with it too...
