sargeant seat fabric

I am getting ready to order a sargeant seat. There are two kinds of fabric- griptex and carbonFX.
Any opinions.
you can get a single for $369.
Any opinions on the extra colors -- does it make the bike go faster?

The Sargents on both of my 05 Tuono and my Rockster are CarbonX and GripTex respectively. I can't tell the difference in the grip by seat-of-the-pants feels. In sunlight, I hardly notice the differences in appearances either.
I rather like the Italian flag for the Italian bike seats and the M-Power BMW tricolor. Why the hell not? You already paid for the seat and the seat already comes with the little "Sargent" tag.

I have the carbon one, though I've not seen a griptex one in the flesh.
I chose it because I was keeping the original rear seat, and was told it's a better match.
I was tempted by the griptex one, as they say it's cooler when it's left in the sun, but I was told that if it rains, it can be a real pain to get it dry to sit on. I'm not sure how big a difference it actually makes though, I should think fnfalman would know more about that than me!
As for the M power badge, It's up to you really, I didn't want one at first because I didn't think it'd suit my bike, but was told I could get it for £20 cheaper if it had it on. I went for the logo, and it's grown on me now.
They are great seats though, once the money's spent, you'll never look back

I bought a Sargent for mine about a year ago. I went with the Carbon FX and no logo. The Carbon FX does match the original rear seat very well. My bike is black so I decided to not add the tri color logo. I'm very pleased with the seat; I've done 500-700 miles days with no problems. Have you seen any pictures of the Sargent on the bike with original rear?

+1 on the Carbon FX better matching the original seat better, unless doing both seats I'd stick with that.
The Griptex is actually a more slippery seat IMO. The "weave" is bigger.
For me the stock seat hurt at 100 miles. I did a bit over 1,000 on my sargant in one day with no butt pain. It did slightly change the bike's ergo's (more relaxed) but I got used to it in a few weeks. For myself its the best mod for a R1150R.
