MOVING ON. . THANKS FOR THE RIDE!

Just sold my 2004 R1150R. Time to upgrade. I'm torn between a Triumph Sprint St ABS, Honda ST 1300 ABS, and BMW K1200GT. The price tag on the first two are leading me away from the beloved BMW.
I will definately stop in from time to time to read about the timeless R1150R.
I have really enjoyed reading and learning here.

...but remember there's no need to leave just because you will no longer be riding an RR.
btw...The new BMW GT is head and shoulders above the other two..but they are expencive..shame about that.

Sat on the following bikes this afternoon:
Triumph Sprint - DID NOT LIKE
Honda ST1300 - DID NOT LIKE
Yamaha FJR - DID NOT LIKE
BMW K1200GT - Very nice - $21,500
BMW R1200RT - WINNER - $18,200 (inlcudes heated grips and seat and electronic cruise control - this one was blue - did not have ESA or a stereo) This was hands down the most comfortable bike I sat on today.

Dominor - please test ride both and post thoughts. I'm thinking about the RT and GT as candidates for my next purchase. I'm waiting though 'til '08 to buy.

Dominor - I too am interested in what your next ride is and would encourage you to hang around. Several members have moved to other BMW models (or added Brand Xs to the stable) and stuck around!

Waiting for some warmer weather and drier roads to test ride the R1200RT. I might test ride the GT, depending on how big the tax return is. I have to say, the RT was actually much more comfortable to sit on than the GT. I expect the insurance will be much cheaper for the 110HP RT than the 153HP GT. Still letting the new fairing on the 1200RT grow on me. I wasn't a big fan when they changed the design from the 1150RT, but I do like the blue color.
I recently heard of a police ride comparison from California between the Harley Road King, Honda ST1300, and the BMW R1200RT. The seasoned riders, all motor officers, voted for the BMW in all areas (weight, fuel mileage, agility, and comfort). If I find the link to the report I'll post it on a new thread.
