Had a couple of extra hours last Friday and wanted to try out some new cold-weather gear.

Southernmost part of ride; Taughanock Falls State Park

Falls @ State Park

Fingerlakes National Forest. I am about 45 minutes from home in the heart of deer country the day before gun season. Not keen on riding at dusk, but....I just went a little too far before heading back

Fingerlakes Nat'l Forest isn't all that big, but the R isn't the best choice for wet dirt roads....this was the dry part

Can't be that much further to go

I make it out in time to see blacktop in the daylight

White deer @ former Seneca Army Depot, fortunately there is this nice fence...but there have been occasions where the manage to get over / under... Not a very good picture, cold hands, no tripod etc.;

Hoping to have some above freezing weather for another week or two and the time to go for a ride.

Nice pics. I grew up in Rochester and remember the Fingerlakes as being prime country.

Daryl,

I was just going to ask you where Fingerlakes was but Toner answered my question.

Nice photos. How did your cold weather gear test work out?

Glad you made it to tarmac before dark! I was wondering how the R went in the wet slippery stuff! Nice shots!

What type of fairing is that? And where did you get it? The color match looks perfect in the photos.

I'm curious as well about that windshield/mini-fairing. Looks like it was made for the bike.

Nice lighting on some of the photos. Dodging the forest rats is scary though!
