A couple of comments. I use the 60C but want a 60Cx. Last time I looked the opinion of the gps world was that the extra features of the CS were not a good value.

I have found the slow screen refresh of the 60 series to be an annoyance for navigation on the street. The screen is also quite small. It doesn't seem to be as much of a problem when I'm dual sporting. I haven't used a 60Cx, the speed problem may have been fixed there.
My son has a 2610 and it is much better suited to street navigation. Bigger screen, faster etc., but it doen't record tracks as nicely as the 60C.

http://www.ram-mount.com/products/motorcycles.htm you will find lots of options. Even in the non-motorcycle section there are some handy parts. Make sure you use one of the "rubber" mounting balls as a hedge against vibration. GPS units do not do well under vibration.
In direct answer to you question, I mount my GPS on top of the tank bag using a homebrewed holder. For dual sport riding I use a different home made bracket to mount it to my map holder.
