Exhaust conversion

So I finally saw the light and did the DJ exhaust conversion. I had the BMW exhaust lowering kit installed with a Remus Y-pipe. Last week I was putting that new Pirelli on the rear and got to liking the looks of the open wheel. So I dragged the Cat back off the garage wall and installed it. For the tip I simply used the BMW muffler lowering pipe adapter. It's stainless and a little Scotch-Bright polished it right up. I like the sound and the looks.

You put the cat converter back on?
How does the new setup sound compared to the Remus Y pipe and the factory muffler?

RD, I think I like it better. I haven't had it out on the highway, but around town it has a nice low tone to it. I don't think it's really louder. The Remus is a nice pipe. When used with the stock muffler it has an odd ring to it. A harmonic if you like. I actually think that is caused by the increased flow through stock muffler. I think with a SuperTrapp tunable muffler it would sound great and run well. There's no question of the increased heat from the CAT. I felt that immediately, but where I live heat is usually not an issue. The Remus sounds good with
no muffler, but that might wear on a guy after an hour or two on the road. I don't know how the Harley guys do it. They've already gone deaf I suppose.

I changed my exhaust. I mounted a Bodis exhaust system.

This system sounds very well and it will increase the performance.
If you want to buy such system let me know. I want to arrange it with the dealer. Of course you can do it by your own, but if you are not sure I would help you.

Thank you for the post. I had seen the system and liked the exhaust header....it is a beautiful system. What does it include, I thought it brings a chip as well? What does it cost in Germany?
Can you post some pics of your motorcycle with the exhaust?

I bet that sounds good.That's a mean looking y-pipe. I question their use of a GS for a test platform though, the RR would have been more appropriate. Looks like you lost the center stand though, eh ?

Hello DJ,
you don't loose your center stand. I saw bikes with the exhaust system and a center stand. I agree with you, the center stand is very important.
