The new R1200R was released yesterday and today it goes on show for the first time to the public.

I just found out that the guy who leaked out those R1200R pics last week has been charged with espionage by BMW and is now facing two years jail..

BMW were not happy that they got leaked before todays big day at the biker-meet.

I noticed that it has a 600W alternator, vs. 700W for the R1150R. I wonder why the downgrade? Weight savings?

It looks like the new 1200R has a higher payload capacity than the 1150.

thanks to the fender & the repositioning of the oil cooler, i feel that the r1200r looks someone similar to the r1100r. a style that makes the bike look "normal".

According to that website, the new R1200R comes in three colors.. Night Black, Crystal Grey and Granite Grey. Those are colors? At least when the R1150R had it's debut, it offered Atlanta Blue (fastest) as an option.

Call me a stick-in-the-mud, but I'd like to see BMW always offer a traditional black basic flat twin. It's a tradition that goes back to, what... 1923?
