I originally planned a trip to Atlanta to work, giving myself 2 days for travel, but the gig cancelled after I already left. Since I already was on the road, and ready for a trip on my new bike, I immediately jumped off the expressway and started looking for green on my map.
I ended up covering about 925 miles in 2 days on my R1150R.
I explored state and national parks along with hundreds of mile of county roads in southern Indiana, spend the night in Evansville, had a great steak, got some rest, then today I zigzagged my way back north.
Eventually getting back on I-65 for the last 120 miles.
After so many miles on country roads at nice mellow speeds, it was perfect to end the trip, hammering down to get home before the rain moved in to the area, I just missed it.
I must say that it was an amazing experience, and I'm already trying to figure out when I can get on my bike and out of the city......

Anyways, it was such a great time, no schedule, no destination, perfect weather, small towns, and twisty country roads with all kinds of different smells.
Pure Heaven.
I love my R1150R, it's perfect for this type of riding IMO.
If anyone is interested in my route let me know. Some damn fine riding county down there.

I'm taking another trip north, leaving today. My schedule is open so what the heck.
I wish I could have gotten a bar riser today but couldn't find one in stock locally. My wrists hurt, and from reading the other threads here , I think it should help me.

The slideshow is very easy to do with iPhoto on my Mac.
Took about 15 mins from camera to web with only a few clicks.

I just bought my r1150r a month ago as my first bike. Have been riding it 45 miles to and from work every day. Tomorrow I am headed out on my first long ride, about 400 miles. Can't wait.

Here's a few more pics of the second part of my trip.
I ended up heading north and spending 3 more days riding. I was lucky enough to put on 2000 miles in 5 days.
I stayed it Stevens Point, Wisconsin the first night, then a nice cabin in Eagle River the second night.
Such natural beauty, and nice roads.
The last day, a 400 mile dash home in 50 degree overcast weather wasn't quite as fun as the rest of the trip, but I really have no complaints at all. I love my R.

I know the cooler isn't the prettiest, but I did the second 1000 miles with a lady friend, it really helped her acting as a backrest, I'm waiting on a topcase.......

You know, I just rode across country with this guy who strapped a cooler onto the back of each bike. Each day he filled them with ice and beer. At the end of the day we had all the ice cold beer we needed.

This idea of a cooler on the tail rack is actually ingenius! This may be how I get rich. I am going to design an aesthetically pleasing cooler/backrest that attaches to the rack. I'll keep you all posted on this. I gotta go to my drawing board.

It's what I came up with to accommodate my rider.
I was on my way out of town, stopped to get some earplugs and saw this small cooler at a grocery store. I thought I could just ratchet strap it to the back. So I bought it, stopped a Auto Zone bought 2 straps, and a rubber mat to put underneath it. Worked real well. After she started to trust it, my rider really liked having a backrest. Not beautiful, but functional.
It did have 2 purposes, all though it was kinda a pain to get into it. How about a cooler insert for a topcase?
I like the good-looking cooler-backreat idea......

Thanks for the pics and slideshow. It's fun being able to see the areas others ride. (And, Yes, Macs are too cool). And what a great looking bike!
