Need input on what tires to use in Alaska

I am going from San Diego to Alaska on June 16.
I won't stop till I hit Prudhoe Bay.
Do I need dual sport tires like Conti TKC80 in Alaska?
Wher can I find 170 rear?
Please, someone tells me Z6 are fine, please.

Z6's are fine. Really. If necessary, lower tire pressures if you ahve miles upon miles of gravel and bumpy roads.
You might not make it on one set....
Take pictures and post a trip report.

BMWkidd, you have quite a trip ahead of you. Z6's handle maintained gravel roads pretty well. On a trip like you have planned, plan to replace tires earlier than necessary. They're expensive, but not THAT expensive.

There is not much choice for a front DS tire for your bike. I would at least put a Tourance on the rear.
If the 500 mile Dalton HWY is dry, the Z6's might make it OK. But if you hit a wet section they will be miserable. Chances are you will hit rain and several water trucks. The road turns to chocolate pudding, it is difficult to stand up on!!
I don't think one Z6 rear will make the trip.
