Probably been answered before...will the R1150R do a wheelie in 1st and 2nd? 3rd? Hypothetically speaking of course.

1st gear no problem... ....2nd gear maybe... ....that's about it....IMO

BMW's are not good wheelie machines...

My definition of wheelie is anytime you bring the front end up for an extended amount of time.

My definition of power wheelie....well not every bike can "power wheelie" for me I am gonna say a R bike will not power wheelie I speak only from my personal experience on my Boxercup Replika that it would not......ok back to power wheelie definition........I believe a power wheelie is a wheelie that is performed while at a cruising speed with the flick of the wrist the motor is strong enough to pull the front wheel up with ease or from all the"power" from the motor. A 1st gear wheelie is not considered a power wheelie in my book. A power wheelie would be performed in 3rd or higher gear. Now the K bike I would think that it would power wheelie.

I agree..our bikes can't power wheelie...you can sometimes float the front wheel in first and sometimes second.

But a real power wheelie in my book is using horse power in the higher rev range..our bike need to use the grunt of the lower to mid range.

A real wheelie in my book is getting it close to balance point and holding it there..not just a quick jerk of the front wheel up and back down.

One of the reasons I like the RR is that it can't power wheelie...because I've used up 8 of my 9 lives and I don't trust myself..

LOL.....I agree and thats why I sold the Boxercup I used up a few of mine nine lives. It wasnt gonna belong before they were all gone.

it's statistically-proven that shaft drive bikes don't wheelie - come on!

I pretty much agree with isiahstites & DJ. I really don't think the Roadster can power wheelie. It does however lift up the front with authority if you snap it in first gear. That type of wheelie, it actually does better than my CBR600RR.

my def of a power wheelie is ,from a start with hard acceleraition you bring the front up in [1st gear] a bout 6 in to a foot then bring it down as you go in to 2nd ... and i have popped a few in my day and as a matter of fact isiahsites's wife has witnessd this feet as she was behind me

i dont think that shaft or chain or belt has anything to do with wheelies it depends on the rider
and just for the record i never said i rode a wheelie just popped one

For the record a drive shaft has to transfer all of the power 90 degrees and is not as efficient( spell ) where as a chain drive typically just transfer the power straight back to the sproket.....this is a guess but I would say you lose 15-20% with a shaft drive where as with a chain I would say it is closer to 7-12%.

No privste joke going on DJ just love messing with Beekster! I dont doubt you DJ when I had the BC Replika it would wheelie in first and even start to come up a bit in second, however I didnt do it much even in first outta pure fear of screwing up.

The only point I was trying to make was that most BMW's dont do power wheelies from 3rd or 4th gear.

I dont remember where I heard it but I have heard you can really mess up the splines on the drive shaft doing wheelies.
