Tiny nipples

I got a new TwinMax machine, but the tubing that came with the unit is too large and barely stays put on my throttle bodies' brass nipples, or simply slips off if moved. I went to the auto parts store and got vacuum tubing with a smaller inner diameter and I'm about to do my first TB sync. Before I do, is there any reason this smaller diameter tubing would affect the TwinMax?
Many thanks for the board's expertise.

Your TM should also have a couple of short sections of smaller diameter hose and two black plastic reducing couplings with it. Use the couplings to add the smaller diameter hose to the large hose and they should fit your bike. The large diameter hose fits the nipples on the airhead carberators.

OK, no prob, just put the smaller diameter hose on from the store. Won't make any difference in the vacuum readings.

Thanks for your help, rchop, and kudos on your new creation's photo spread. That's one fine-looking, well-engineered custom!

Misleading title for this thread. I thought it would be moved to the Playhouse!
(Any smart remark along the lines of DJ's comment has been supressed)
