Autocom removal

I'm just looking at removing the autocom from my R. It is mounted just in front of the seat, with the feed wire disappearing off under the tank. I thought initially it just went to the battery, but as far as I can see (without removing the tank) it goes off toward the front of the bike. Anyone got an idea where it would be connected? Is there a specific kit for R's or is it just down to the local tech. Should there be an inline fuse there somewhere?

The Autocom does not come with a specific 12V supply location. Each owner/fitter chooses the location.
It is most likely connected to a switched supply which up the front of the bike includes the park light etc.
Many take the power from a fused source within the fuse panel; for instance, the horn fuse.
If you can't locate the junction, why not cut the cable and insulate the end.

Thanks Keith. For the time being I pulled the multi-socket from withing the unit, and taped that up.

I thought there was some transformer upstream from the Autocom itself, as I thought this ran on 9v.

I'll lift the tank or get the dealer to do it at the next service.
