Here's a just few of my pics showing what the weather was like for the three days of our ride interstate through the 'Snowy Mountains' in NSW.

Day one...hot,hot,hot.

Here I am just about to start the ride.

Image

Just a few hours into our ride it was time to stop for a cold drink.

Image

This is the last of the sunlight on day one.

Image

Day two...hot,hot,hot.

While the others slept in I did a bit of exploring on early daylight...boxerboy told me about this nice little track.

Image

About mid-day on day two...did I say it was HOT.

Image

Here's the end of the day on day two.

Image

Day three...hot,hot,hot.

While the guys slept in again I waited for the sun to come up...to get a nice pic of the sunrise..I think it was worth it.

Image

Miday on day three...still hot.

Image

And was it fun???...here's a pic at the end of day three...this is how much fun it was.

Image

I will try and post the rest of my pics tomorrow.

This was me this morning after getting up a 5.30am to get a sunrise pic..(and after a late night)...note boxerboys bike behind me.

Here goes with my first lot of pictures...I have about 80 pics so I'll post them in three lots...they are small pics and very low resolution.....cool.

Here I am all ready to rock and roll.. :D

Image

There were eight of us...about to head off on three days of riding up to and through the Snowy Mountains of NSW (New South Wales)....but.. :(

Before we got started there was dramas with one of the Ducati's...lucky there was a Ducati dealer just up the road to fix it.. :smt086

Image

Don't you hate it when 15 minutes into a ride someone needs fuel.. :?

Image

After about an hour or so we stopped at the Flowerdale Pub for a cold drink or two.. :smt110

Image

Our next stop was Mansfield...the local cops stopped by to check us out...no problems..

Image

We stopped at the Mountain View Hotel for dinner in the beer garden.

Image

It was getting dark when we left to ride to Beechworth where we arranged accommodation for the night.

Image

We were riding toward Beechworth and there was this amazing sunset..I kept thinking stop and take a pic..when I finally did the colors had almost gone.

Image

That's about it for my pics on day one.

I woke up to another beautiful day...I've never been to Beechworth so while the others were waking up and getting them selves a big cooked breakfast I headed off to check out this famous little town and take some pics.

Here's the post office in the main street.

Image

I had a great breakfast at the local bakery.

Image

Boxerboy told me about this great little road with great views that was just nearby...so I checked it out.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

I took this pic hoping to show the moon in the distance...yes that fuzzy little dot..

Image

Old cars in the main street..an old EH Holden Panel van (my first car) and a big old Chevrolet truck.

Image

After catching up with the others and heading off out next stop was the Hume Weir (Dam).

Image

Image

Image

Back on the open road heading for those mountains in the distance.

Image

We stopped on this corner and boxerboy told us about his head on with a car here once...great view.

Image

Image

Image

I must apologize for this pic...yes they're everywhere here..

Image

Again...I must apologize for this pic...yes they're everywhere here..

Image

Ok..here we are getting close the the highest peaks in Australia (and that's where we're headed)..a nice little lookout point...and time for pics...

Image

Image

Image

Back on the road and approaching Lake Jindabyne.

Image

We found this nice Pub overlooking the lake Jindabyne...time for more cold drinks.

Image

It's now late afternoon and here's where we stayed the night...a little town called Adaminaby.

Image

Yes..at the bottom of the sign it says...home of the big Trout.

Image

And here it is....

Image

Image

Image

This is where we ate dinner...it was like stepping back in time.. :D

Image

Here we are pigging out on the great food.

Image

I had an Aussie classic...Roast Lamb...and it was so good.. =P~

Image

That's about it for my second lot of pics...I'll post the rest tomorrow.

DJ, DJ, DJ, what can I say? It just keeps getting better and better.
Nice to see some of the mates you ride with. Really liked the panel van
and older chevy truck. Tell me was the guy on the Harley able to keep up? Then you end it with a great dinner,,,burp....thanks.

Can hardly wait for rest of story..

Jack...the guy on the Harley was just about to leave a petrol station as we were pulling in...I asked if I could take his pic...he was so proud...(little does he know)...we flew past several groups of Harley riders...I remember seeing one with a small group of cars following and waiting to pass because of double lines...sheesh!...it should be the other way around.. :D

Anyway...here's some more pics.

I woke up early on the last day of our ride.

I looked at the time and saw that the sun will be up soon so I got up,got dressed and road up the road toward the rising sun to get some nice sunrise pics.

Here they are.

That breakfast looks delicious, except I'm still full from the roast lamb supper. Sounds and looks like you had a great ride.

Thanks Jack....here's the rest of my pics.

Back on the road again...the sky was amazing...jet plane vapor trails everywhere..it must have been just the right temperature or something.

Image

Here comes the quickest bike in the group...yes the Blackbird.

Image

Now the two Ducati's...both red of coarse.

Image

I think these trees are snow-gums...it looks like Winter but it's Summer.

Image

Looking down to one of the power station dams.

Image

Here's the dam wall...that's a rider and pillion half way across..(if you look close)

Image

More of those jet stream thingies in the sky.

Image

Image

There were heaps of these cuttings...some through solid rock.

Image

This is one of the few straight bits were you could really fang.

Image

We stopped in this little town for more cold drinks...notice how we all parked under any shade that there was..the weather was perfect.

Image

While we were having lunch another beakster rolled up..I only see about one other beak every 6 months..so I took a pic.

Image

Almost back to Melbourne..this is Bonnie Doon...there's usually heaps of water here...it just show how dry our Summer has been.

Image

Boxerboy and I stopped for another cold drink after splitting from the others...and one last fuel stop.

Image

The bugs were few..but boxerboy got a beauty on the helmet..he said it knocked his head back..I had just sprayed his visor with Mr Sheen..it's great for bugs.

Image

I got a nice one near my left header...I wondered what that smell was.. :D

Image

That's about it for me...I had one last stop on my way home...I sure was hungry..I just wanted to get home..put me feet up..and eat pizza..(with a cold coke).. :D

DJ, great pics. I would love to visit down there sometimes. One question, though. What model is the silver bike? I can see the roundel, but can't make out the model. Is it the F800 or whatever the new model is? It looks nice.

You're right Boxershorts...I knew that.. ...what was I thinking.

Greg could really fly on that yellow GS...I was having a hard time keeping up with him at times and he's only been on the bike this week-end..

btw...I fixed the error...thanks for pointing it out.

Here's a pic of Greg and his GS.
