I was just wondering if anyone has had any dealing with this Co.? They have a pretty nice web site and the prices seem pretty good. I am thinking of ordering a sargent seat, (just the front) anyone know which would match the stock seat best, Carbon FX or the Griptex? Thanks Den

I live in Georgia, and I've been through Thomasville several times (its down south) but I never knew this company was there. Is it new?

Next time I'm down that way, I'll check it out. If the weather cooperates that may be this week. I have the week off and really need to ride south some. Maybe I can get Bill Haycock to go with me!

I maintain the BMW Motorcycle Owners of Georgia website and I just placed an inquiry on our forum to see who knows these folks.

The web site looks good and they are a Tucker Rocky distributor. I'll let you know when I hear something.

MNNDEN - I've actually purchased a (used) Corbin Canyon dual sport seat for my bike from RL Motorcycles (Cycle Saddles). It's a father and son business. They told me Internet sales on club web sites have really impacted their business - good for us - too bad for them. Their price was fair and their shipping was fast and well padded (original box).

I've since purchased a front and rear Sargent seat set. I bought the carbon FX material - it doesn't hold water (as much) if your seat gets wet. I didn't buy my Sargent from Cycle Saddles but, before I made the purchase (from a friend who had traded his R for a GS), I priced from them. They had seats in stock and their price was a couple of bucks less than the retail prices posted on the Sargent site.

I now prefer the Sargent to the Corbin - which I've since sold (and certainly to the OEM). One wish would be that the Sargent rear seat was shorter to allow for a longer rider seat (giving me some room to change positions - I don't carry a passenger). One thing you can't do to well (IMHO) is skip the rear seat and install the cover plate instead. The back of the rider's seat has no rise or lip - it's the front of the rear seat that keeps you from moving too far to the rear.

In short - I had a good experience with Cycle Saddles (RL Motorcycles). Good luck - Bob

I am doing a saddlesore 1000 ride to Fitzgerald (hey, what better way to see your in-laws, the girls fly and I ride.) in June. I was 100 Miles short. The trip to Thomasville for a Sargent will be a great finish.

I just bought a Sargent seat from these folks. They were easy to do business with and had fair pricing. The product was shipped promptly and well packed.

The seat is sooooooo comfortable. I have been riding on the stock seat for about 6 months and even short rides get uncomfortable. No doubt...best add-on money spent (with the Kisan Signalminder as a close second since it only costs about $100). I chose the Grip-Tex material because of the look...understanding that it does hold water, but may be a bit cooler in the summer months. I dont do a lot of riding in the rain, and summers in Atlanta are just plain hot and humid.

I want to thank all for the Great input. I will be ordering a sargent and a Givi top case, gagator, I think I will be going with the carbon FX, as I think it might match the rear seat better, Brownw3, good luck with the saddle sore, (keep me posted as to the result). Bob, I have heard others say they prefer the Sargent over the corbin also, wouldn't it be nice to try them all? Den

This is going to be 2 saddlesores in one month mn. I am riding around lake Huron in the first weekend in June and going on my annual SS to Georgia. This is going to be the first year I "document" everything when I ride around Lake Huron (the kids all want their license plate holders. You'd probably be more than welcome on the Lake Huron thing.

I received an email from these folks today.
It was actually from RL, Sr. the owner of the company. He was disappointed that I had not heard of his company since he has had a vendor booth at our GMR (Georgia Mountain Rally) for the last couple of years.

Apparently he read my post up above and sent me the email. I just don't understand why he didn't post a message here on this thread.

Oh well, I explained to him about my "only recent" involvement with the Georgia club here and ignorance concerning the rally vendors. So far still no reports from the BMWMOGA forum. I just wish I had heard about his business a couple of years ago.

I ordered and received the Givi top box from "Cycle saddles" I could not be happier, Very good people to deal with, I sent them an e-mail with a couple of questions and received promp reply. I did not order the seat yet, , I am going to look at a used "Russell". But if I decide to get a Sargent, it will be from Cycle Saddle, Thanks Boxer for the information, and Brownw3, thanks for the offer. Den

I bought a Sargent World Sport and a backrest from RL. Couldn't be happier!
(unless of course they could get Sargent to slash their prices a bit...)

My experience = great products/great service.
