Sooo, my battery is flatish (lights come on but nobody's home) and I smugly scurry off to get my trickle charger with its handy dandy accessory socket plug attachment. I plug it in and... nothing. Doesn't start to recharge.
The charger works because it kicked in on my other bike. I took the starter cover off the R to check the connections behind and these are in place just fine. The battery had enough juice in it to get the lights going brightly, so I don't think it's radically dead. What are the possibilities and is it worth trying to get aligator clips under the tank or could it be just a blown fuse? If so, how do I tell which one and does the box come with spares?!
Doh! I just found a pic of the fuse box and saw that the power socket shares a fuse with the clock. My clock hasn't been working for a while... So I reckon I just need a new fuse. Can I use a different one just to get the battery charged up - say the one for the heated grips?

They're different colors, aren't they? Probably different amperages too. I'd recommend finding a replacement fuse instead. Check your tool roll, there should be a couple of fuses hiding there, and find an exact replacement for the blown one. Otherwise, your local auto parts store might be of help. Good luck!
